Lizzie Winlock Carney, 97, of Fanshawe, OK passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Fanshawe. Lizzie was born in Red Oak, OK on May 4, 1913 to Johnny & Ada (Jefferson) Winlock. She was a homemaker. Lizzie was a member of Rock Creek Indian Baptist Church in Red Oak, OK. She was a tribal member of the Choctaw Nation. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Lee Carney; daughter, Helen Carney Brannon; sister, Betty Gaines Owens; brothers, Lewis Harlan Gaines, Woodrow Gaines, & Robert Winlock; and parents, Johnny Winlock & Ada Winlock Gaines.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Kathryn Seyler of Fanshawe, OK, Patricia Standridge of Gautier, MS, Doris Box of Fanshawe, OK, Mary Lou Ellenburg of Wister, OK, Isabell Carney of Fanshawe, OK; sister, Hettie Marie Williamson of Sulphur, OK; 15 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be held 2 pm, Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Fanshawe School Auditorium in Fanshawe, OK with Greg McGowen officiating. Interment will follow in Fanshawe Cemetery, Fanshawe, OK. The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, May 23 from 2-4 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
