Virginia Ann Lawler




Virginia Ann Lawler, Age 67, of Eagletown, OK  passed from this life to her eternal home on Sept 25th  surrounded by her family in Paris, TX.  She was born on Dec 29th, 1951 in Oklahoma City, OK.   Ann or Memaw as she was known by many children she cared for in her small community was an employee of Wal-Mart in Broken Bow for over 15 years, then a private care taker of children and the elderly until her health wouldn’t allow her to anymore.    She loved camping, fishing, playing cards, quilting and caring for the elderly and children.  Every member of her family received many quilts over their lifetime made especially for them with her loving hands.  She was preceded in death by her dad,  Dean E Worley.

She leaves to survive her soul mate,  Teddy Owen; four children, Tim & Sonya Lawler of Holly Creek, Tony & Jill Lawler of Eagletown, OK,  Genia & Paul Wayne Mathews of Eagletown, OK,  and Virgil & Tracie Owen of Ft. Towson, OK; Moma and Spouse; Dob & Steve Worley of Eagletown, OK;  seven siblings and Spouses, Donna & Bob Fikes of Mt. Belvieu, TX., Jan & Jim Cook of Poteau, OK., Brenda and Kelsie Keeney of Idabel, OK., Pam Bradshaw of Poteau, OK., Rick Worley of Broken Bow, OK.,  Vickie & Mike Gamble of Idabel, OK., Tammie & Billy Oxley of Mt. Belvieu, TX.  And on aunt, Twalla Robinson of Poteau, OK; Eleven grandchildren with consort;  Brandon & Kim,  DeAndra & Joe, Ashley & Justin, Ricky, Kendall & Josh, Kody & Kaydee, DaKota, Derek & Katy, Matthew, Josh & Rebecca, Haley & Jerry; 12 great grandchildren; Kaeslynn, Kyleigh, Kadence, Avery, Lynnleigh, Lane, Luke, Dawson, Grayson, Landyn, Shon, Sadie and a host of nieces & nephews, friends & loved ones. 

Services will be held at the Eagletown Gymnasium on  Saturday, SEPT 28th at 10:00 a.m. with burial interment at Oakland Cemetery Poteau, OK.  at 3:00 P.M.  Under the direction of Evans Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Ok & Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home of Broken Bow, Ok.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, Sept. 27th at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, OK.

Almeda Jean Eagan


Almeda Eagan peacefully passed away at her daughter’s home Thursday.  Almeda was born in San Antonio to Whit and Dorothy Franklin.  Almeda also known as Jean was born into a military family.  In her teens she was a Sunday school teacher, part time aide in the pediatric ward, and sales clerk.  Jean married and moved to Augusta, GA where Edgar was stationed.  Jean soon bore her first child, Dorothy.  Their next stations were in France where she gave birth to daughters,  Kathy and Diana.  After raising her children Jean enrolled in college.  After graduation Jean became the office manager for a notable plastic surgeon.   When the doctor passed unexpectedly Jean moved to San Francisco area and got a job as an admissions administrator at Hillhaven Convalescent Home.  Jean returned to college in 2001.  At the age of 70 Jean received her Associate Degree for Early Childhood Development.  Jean ran a home childcare until 2010 when her health declined.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dorothy; her husband; brother,  Benjamin “Melvin”, granddaughter, Christie; grandson, Gino. 



Almeda Jean is survived by her daughters, Kathy Irvan  & Diana Martin of Poteau, OK; brothers, Arley and Louis Franklin, Richard and Ruth Franklin; sister, Dorothy Gay; grandsons, Jason Goss, Vincent Martin; granddaughter, Hillarie Janway; three great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



Viewing will be Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 6-8 pm.  Services will be 2 pm, Friday at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau.  Interment will follow at Fanshawe Cemetery.

Harrell C. Midgley


 
Harrell Clifford Midgley, 96, of Poteau, OK  went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 20, 2019 in VA Hospital in Talihina.  Harrell was born July 7, 1923 in Wister, OK to Edward and Alpha (Green) Midgley.  He was a rancher  and retired Greyhound Lines bus driver.  Harrell was a POW in Stalag 9, Bad Orb, Germany for 106 days, having been captured at the Battle of the Bulge on the Siegfried Line.   Harrell was a member of the Church of God Seventh Day in Wister, OK until his passing.  He was preceded in  death by his loving wife of 66 years, Lucille (Casey) Midgley; his parents; 5 brothers & 5 sisters.

Survivors include his sons, Scotty of Poteau, OK, Vernon & Ruby of Poteau, OK, & Marshall & Charlotte of Stockton, CA; his grandchildren, Vernon & Kathleen Midgley, Tanya & Kenneth Parks, Marcy & Jason Head, Lorie & Steve Rutledge, Matt & Lisa Sanders, Kenny & Olivia Midgley, Mitch Sampson, Tasha & Isaiah Bizzell, Kristin & Kyle Maslakow; 23 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews & loved ones.

Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday,  September 25, 2019 at Church of God Seventh Day in Wister, OK with Lamar Ford, Chip Hinds & Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.   Pallbearers will be Vernon Midgley Jr, Steve Rutledge, Joshua Midgley, Logan Midgley, Jaxton Rutledge & Mitch Sampson.  Honorary pallbearer will be Roman Rutledge.

The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Donations may be made to the charity of your choice ( i.e. Veterans, Heart Assoc., Cancer Research)..

Lola Jean Seaton


          Lola Jean Seaton, 87, of  Cameron, OK passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Lola was born July 20, 1932 in Cameron to Otto & Ola Maye (Sherfield) Goins.  She was a seamstress.     Lola was preceded  in death by; parents; son, Gary Ray Seaton, Curtis Seaton; daughter, Patricia Seaton; sisters, Levenia Newell,  Paulene Cox, Ethelene Covey, Linda Goins; brothers, Orville Goins & Howard Goins.
           Survivors include  her sons, Dale Seaton of Cameron, OK; Dewayne & Beckie Seaton of Panama, OK; daughter in law, Niwona Seaton;  grandchildren, Eddie Seaton. Gary Seaton, Amanda Perdue, Margo Wright; 7 great grandchildren, Tyler, Charis, Katelyn, Myla, Ashtyn, Jaxon, Emma; sisters, Evelyn & A.J. Hanna of Williams, OK, Sue & Jerry Hensley;  brothers, Arnold & David Goins of Panama, OK, Bill & Freda Goins; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
           Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Evans Chapel of Memories with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK.  Pallbearers will be Eddie Seaton, Gary Seaton, Tyler Seaton, Danny Wright, Ryne Perdue,  Allan Hensley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Darneal,  Harlan Hale.
