Beverly Embrey


Mrs. Beverly Jean Caldwell Embrey, age 91, of Poteau, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019.  She was born March 15, 1928, in Harrison, AR, a daughter of the late Euel and Grace Elizabeth Caldwell.  Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred Embrey; daughter, Debra Lynn McDonough; and brothers, Jerry Caldwell and Robert Caldwell. 
Beverly studied stenography at Carl Albert Junior College and retired from Civil Service as a medical transcriptionist and secretary to the commander at Altus Air Force Base. After retiring, she was a homemaker, the Sunday school secretary and member of Calvary Assembly of God in Poteau, OK.  She enjoyed bird watching, burning trash, reading God’s Word, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Beverly was a kind, and compassionate woman of intense faith in God who knew the power of prayer and never ceased to intercede for her family and friends.  She left a legacy of love, faith and perseverance through trials that will live on through the generations to come. 
Beverly is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law; Michael Embrey (Sunita), Stephen Embrey (Theresa); two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen Embrey, and Beth Scott (Mike); grandchildren; Scott Wise, Shari Schenfield, Angela Torres, Taylor Embrey, Jillian Embrey, Elizabeth McDonough, Heath Embrey, Ryan Embrey, Ian Embrey, Allison Embrey, Lauren Virden, Hannah Jackson, Ashley Scott, Harrison Scott; fourteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Rosa Lee Odom. She also leaves many other family members and friends who were deeply blessed and thankful for her life. 
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020, at Evans Funeral Home in Poteau, OK.  
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the funeral home. 
Beverly’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Charles "Red" Cloud




     Charles Ray “Red” Cloud, 89, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 in Poteau.  Red was born July 26, 1930 in Yuma, AZ to Jacob “Louis” & Ola Belle (Peerson) Cloud.  He was raised in Bokoshe, OK and married a Panama, OK girl. He loved gardening, eating, traveling and most importantly, Jehovah God.  He owned and operated “Red Cloud’s Used Cars” for over 20 years.  He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and will be missed dearly.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Harlon Cloud; brothers, Frank Cloud & Jake Cloud; sisters, Helen Hill & Launa Turner.
       Survivors include his wife, Carmel (Call) Cloud of the home; sons & daughter in law, Carlon & Lola Cloud of LaGrange, KY, Chuck Cloud of Poteau, OK; daughters & sons in law, Marilyn Sue & Patrick Weldon of Poteau, OK, Carolyn Jean & Mike Young of Wister, OK; sister, Mildred Young of Edmond, OK; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
              Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Duane Weldon, Keelan Cloud, Blake Weldon, Jacob Cloud, Cameron Cloud & Tate Weldon.
    The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Michael Logan


Michael Logan, 71, of Pocola, OK passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 in Pocola, OK.  Michael was born September 14, 1948 in Hugo, OK to Walter & Evelyn (Wall) Logan.  He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Mike was a long time instructor at Carl Albert State College in Poteau.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary; brothers, Richard & Bob.

Survivors include his wife Judith of the home; daughter, Gina Smith of Clinton, TN; sons, Loren Baxter of Rockwood, TN, Robert Baxter of Pocola, OK and Breck Logan of Hackett, AR; 8 grandchildren; sister, Billye Margowski of  Nashville, TN; brother, Lewis Logan of Ardmore, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Monday, December 30, 2019 graveside at Tuskahoma Choctaw Veteran Cemetery, Tuskahoma, OK.
