Mona Mozelle Gaither



Mona “Mozelle “ Gaither, 90, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Mannford, OK.  Mozelle was born November 22, 1923 in Poteau, OK to Curtis & Mattie (Griffith) Garrett.  She retired from Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Mozelle was a member of Community of Christ in Poteau. She loved to travel, watching sports on TV (especially football).  Mozelle was a very caring, loving and thoughtful lady.  She had many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles J. Gaither; sisters, Louise Akins & Mamie Jo Garrett; brothers, Woodrow & Monroe Garrett; grandson, Chuck Davison.



Survivors include her daughter & son in law, Martha & John Carroll of Poteau, OK; son & daughter in law, Larry & Betty Jo Davison of Mannford, OK; sisters, her twin, Madge Meisner of Kansas City, Doris Nelson of Poteau, OK; 6 grandchildren, Teresa, Cindy, Kimatha, Brent, Kris,  & Ashley;  11 great grandchildren, Matt, Kameron, Braxton, Samantha, Schylar, Megan, Conner, Kenneth,  Jalee, Jarrett, Triton; 3 great great grandchildren, Gracie, Kamden & Easton; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Greg McGowen & Sally McGowen officiating.  Interment will follow in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, OK.  Pallbearers will be Brent, Schylar, Conner, Kenneth, Jarrett, & Kameron.



The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Joe Molton



Joe Carroll Molton, 71, of Shady Point, OK passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Shady Point.   Joe was born September 13, 1942 in Wellington, TX to Oscar & Opal (Gibbons) Molton.   He was a welder.  Joe helped in the construction of the AES Plant.  He loved to restore old cars; he was a member of the Studebaker Club;  a member of the Masonic Lodge; and a veteran of the US Army where he served in Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief.   Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon Kingery Molton; and brothers, W.L. & Archie Molton.

Survivors include his wife, Pam of the home; daughter Jody Molton of Barling, AR and sister, Annetta Cortez of Poteau; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.

Memorial services will be held 10 am, Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Evans Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will be in Shady Point Cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Huff, John Scarborough, Richard Blone.

Earl Cody "Buddy" Rhodes



Earl Cody “Buddy” Rhodes, 89, of  Talihina, OK passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Talihina.  Buddy was born July 30, 1924 in Centrahoma, OK to Earl Hudson & Dorothy (Jordan) Rhodes.  He was retired as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service.  Buddy was a disabled veteran of the US Army.  He was a member of the Lakeview Church in Spiro, OK and a member of FOE (Eagles) of Spiro, OK.  He enjoyed watching baseball particularly NY Yankees, and sports on TV.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Hilliard..

Raymond Goodwin, 74, of Keota, OK passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Keota.  Raymond was born September 21, 1939 in McCurtain, OK to Earl Samuel & Irene (Lowe) Goodwin.  He  was a purchaser for Davis Iron & Metal.  Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rathie & wife, Lena Conley Goodwin; brothers, William Thomas & Charles Earl Goodwin.

Survivors include his sons, Gordon Goodwin and Garth Goodwin of Mountainburg, AR;
Brother, Henry Hinz of McCurtain, OK; numerous grandchildren; best friend, Tommy & Betty Buckner of Keota, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.

Johnny Lee Martin, 69, of Panama, OK passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Johnny was born July 17, 1944 in Panama, OK to Arlin Thiral & Estella Marie (Ornder) Martin.  He was a forklift driver for Whirlpool.  Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Marvin Martin.

Brent Allen Graham



Brent Allen Graham, 25, of Pocola, OK passed away Wednesday January 15, 2014.  Brent loved his family, and he loved God. He loved being in the outdoors, playing sports, rock climbing, chess, and was an amateur artist. Brent was preceded in death by his grandfather Floyd Graham, and brother Josh Graham.



Survivors include his parent; Greg & Twilla Graham of Pocola, OK, sister; Sydney Graham of Pocola, OK, grandparents; J.B. & Donna Branch of Pocola, OK, and Sandra Smith of Greenwood, AR, numerous other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.

Donald Ray Clark



Donald Ray Clark, 73, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Donald was born October 4, 1940 in Howe, OK to Barney & Ethel McKissick Clark.  He was retired from LeFlore County.  Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose L. Clark; 13 siblings and grandson, Blakely Parson.

Survivors include his son, Donald Scott  & Melissa Clark of Poteau, OK, step daughter, Barbara Richmond of Oilton, OK, Grandchildren, Donald Jr., Dakota, Bradley & Katelyn Parson, Valerie (Parson) and Samuel DeShazer; brother, Paul Clark of Broken Arrow; sister, Bessie Oliver of Poteau; great grandchildren, Dawson, Dacota, Kayleejo, Blake Lee DeShazer, Teresalynn Parson; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.

Steve Ray Blansett



Steve Ray Blansett, 61, of West Fork, AR passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 in West Fork. Steve was born June 13, 1952 in Ft. Smith, AR to Bud Lee & Emma Lou (Prescott) Blansett.  He was a veteran of the US Marines.  He worked in Heat/Air.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Janice Blansett.
 
Survivors include his daughters, Sabrina Duncan of Alma, AR, Katy Blansett of Kansas City, KS; sons, Adam Blansett and Damien Blansett of West Fork, AR, Logan Blansett of Ft. Donald Horton




Donald Eugene Horton, 77, of Bokoshe, OK left this life on the evening of Saturday, January 11, 2014 in his home with his wife and two sons at his side,  following a lengthy illness.  Donald was born August 29, 1936 in Milton, OK to Guy Quincy & Montie Olean (LeFlore) Horton.   Donald devoted his life to his wife and family.  He worked for many years in a fertilizer plant and later years in the oil field, pumping gas wells,  He loved hunting, fishing, golfing when younger.  As age came along most of his life was devoted to clearing the farm land where he lived and working with the cattle.  He was baptized into Christ at the Bokoshe Church of Christ.   Words cannot express the void he left in his families life.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Horton; sister, Lena Ann Walker. 

Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Melba of the home; two sons, Donald Jr. & wife Susan of Muldrow, OK, Randy Horton of Bokoshe.  He also leaves three grandsons,  Jason, Jonathan and Jacob Horton, two granddaughters, Stephanie Ortiz & Julie Anderson, two step grandchildren, Makayla & T.W.; four great grandchildren; brothers, Loren Horton of Bokoshe, Joe Horton & wife Sharon of Rogers, AR;  sisters in law, Joy Arter & husband Phillip of Bokoshe, Billye Vincent of Bokoshe, Delcina Saling & husband Tracy of Bokoshe; brother in law, Tim Tanksley & wife Sharon of Bokoshe; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Patricia Ann Beason



Patricia Ann Beason, 75, of Wister, OK went to be with her Lord & Savior Sunday, January 12, 2014 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Pat was born  February 18, 1938 in Tahlequah, OK to Ernest & Leona (Hicks) Powell.  She was retired from G’s Cleaners.  Pat was a member of the 1st Southern Baptist Church of Wister for over 40 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tom & Wayne Powell.

Jimmie Evelyn Gibson, 80, of Wister, OK passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Jimmie was born June 20, 1933 in Summerfield, OK to Melvin & Maudie (Blankenship) Barnes.  She was a librarian.  Jimmie was on the election board; she was active in the community and her church, Bethel Baptist & their choir.  Jimmie loved to quilt; she was well known for her pie making skills. Jimmie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Brown; son in law, Ted Hammons; grandson, Jake Hammons.

Inez Woodall



Inez Woodall, 89, of Wister, OK passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Wister.  Inez was born November 10, 1924 in Howe, OK to  Warren Daniel & Lorena Lura (King) Morris.  Inez attended school at Victor and Glendale. She was a seamstress.  Inez worked for Hamlin Mfg. for many years. Inez was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Wister; she loved her church where she taught the Joy Sunday School class.  She was a wonderful cook, mother & grandmother.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.Q. Woodall on April 20, 1998; 2 brothers & 2 sisters.

Survivors include her daughters & sons in law, Brenda & Charles Ferguson of Wister, OK, Cynthia & Terry  of Poteau, OK; sons & daughters in law, Bobby Wayne & Linda Woodall, Steven Douglas & Heather Woodall all of Wister, Jonathan Mark & Yvette Woodall of Red Oak, OK; sister in law, Mary Morris; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.

 Gayle Dean Barnhart, 75, of Bokoshe, OK passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Bokoshe, OK.  Gayle was born in Elk City, OK on April 17, 1938 to Fred & Rachel (Beach) Barnhart.  He was retired from Whirlpool.  Gayle was a veteran of the US Army.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gene (Tulsa).

Russell W. Whitson



Russell Wayne Whitson, 61, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 in Poteau.  Russell was born November 8, 1952 in Paden, OK to Thomas Allen & Aggie (Conner) Whitson.  He was the shop manager for Ryder Trucks.  Russell was preceded in death by his parents; son, Phillip Bookout; wife, Betty Carringer Whitson; brother, Thomas Eugene Whitson, granddaughter, Shauna R. Bookout.

   Bill J. Barber, 82, of Poteau, OK passed away  Monday, January 6, 2014 in Poteau.  Bill was born September 26, 1931 in Checotah, OK to John W. & Lelia C. (Borum) Barber.  He was preceded in death by wife, Alma Lou on April 27, 2000.   The list of Bill’s involvements and accomplishments is extensive – a token of that list follows: farm born baby, brother to 4 sisters, motherless at age 11, stepson, husband, father, grandfather,  country store clerk, student, lineman, truck driver, electrician, fireman, businessman/owner, financier, banker, land owner/visionary, Lions Club member, Sunday School teacher, church trustee, deacon, college regent, advisor, hard worker, friend, giver, witness, and his most prized name, Christian.

Linda Dianna Goins, 62 of Panama, OK passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 in Panama.  Linda was born April 17, 1951 in Panama, OK to Otto & Ola Mae (Sherfield) Goins.  She was a teacher/coach.  She coached baseball & basketball.  Linda taught in Panama, McCurtain, Howe, and Cave Springs.  She managed Anchor Finance in Sallisaw for 18 years.  Linda was an avid football fan.  She loved to spend time with her family.  She and her sisters vacationed together every year. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Levenia Newell, Pauline Cox; brother, Orville Goins.

Services will be 2 pm Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Bro. Burl Linebarger & Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Chris Martinez, Jeff Buffington, Billy Spencer, Carlos Martinez, Pedro Martinez.

Lawanna Kyle



Lawanna Ann Kyle, 63, of Poteau, OK passed away January 2, 2014 in Ft. Smith, AR.  She was born August 23, 1950 in Poteau, OK to Johnnie Hoyt & Kathrine Iola (McCanless) Kyle.  She was a homemaker.  Lawanna was preceded in death by her mother, Katy Weatherford, stepfather, Shirley Dean Weatherford, and father, Johnnie Kyle.



Survivors include her sisters, Aledda Jane Marler of Heavener, OK, Kay & Lynn Drury of Poteau, OK; brothers, Dixie Wayne & Debby Kyle of Malvern, AR, Charles Robert Kyle of Wister, OK, numerous nieces & nephews, her friends at KiBois; Dog – The love of her life, “Snowball”.   Alicia Cripps; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.



Services will be 5 pm, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Evans Chapel of Memories with Rev. Keith Williams officiating.  Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.



The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Connie L. Olsen, 67, of  Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013.  She was born October 28, 1946 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Martin Owen & Stella Mae (New) Reagan.  She was a homemaker. 



Survivors include her husband, Mark of the home; daughter & son in law, Carmen Minor & Bill Overton of Poteau, OK; 2 grandchildren, Jazzmynn Mae Overton, W.M. “Mykel” Overton;  Sisters, Barbara Baker, Brenda Slayton of Climax, Michigan; nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.

  Ola Ethelene Covey, 79, of Shady Point, OK passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Shady Point.  Ethelene was born September 24, 1934 in Panama, OK to Otto & Ola Mae (Sherfield) Goins.  She was a homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Donald Wayne Covey, sisters & brother, Orville, Levenia, Pauline and Linda.
