Theo Luman



Theo "Pat" Luman, 83, of Wister, OK passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Pat was born July 1, 1934 in Glendale Community, OK to James Z. & Alice (Ollar) Luman.  He was a press operator for Pitney Bowes.  Pat was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents; 4 sisters, Lorene, Elsie, O'Dean and Jewell; 5 brothers, Harlan, Haskell, Hershel, Cleo and Dale.



Survivors include his daughter & son in law, Tricia & Brian Moore of Greenbrier, AR;

grandson, Aaron "Three"  & Lacy Herbert of Heavener, OK; great granddaughter, Kenna Lynn; brother, Harril Luman of Wister, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Friday, December 1, 2017 graveside at Reichert Cemetery with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow.    The family extends a special thanks to Heavener Nursing & Rehab, Mercy Hospice - for their care and compassion in the last few months for Dad.  In lieu of flowers please donate to Angel Tree at LeFlore County Youth Services.



The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Cecil Luretha Branstetter



Cecil Luretha Branstetter, 97, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 in her home.  Cecil was born March 31, 1920 in Cameron, OK to Leslie Andrew & Edna Ann (Sims) Pierce.  She was a devoted Christian lady who loved her family and all the many children that brought joy to her life.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay Branstetter; daughter, Meredith Heavener; brother, Olen Pierce and sister, Mary Robertson.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Branstetter of Poteau; beloved son in law, Arthur Heavener of Cameron, OK; special friends, Anita, Bob, Sandra & Graclyn;  numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones.

Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Slaytonville Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mark Branstetter, Brian Hendrix,  Logan Hayes, Michael Bailey, Christopher Gray, Gary Heavener.

Paul H. Stottsberry


          Paul Herbert Stottsberry, 85, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Poteau.  Paul was born June 18, 1932 in Bentonville, AR to Homer & Rebecca (Sargent) Stottsberry.  They moved to Poteau, OK when he was six years old.  He attended school there and graduated from Poteau High School.  From there he attended and graduated from Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, OK where he attained his business degree.  He also met the love of his life, Sue Leathers, while in Tahlequah; and they were married January 22, 1955. 
          Paul spent some time in the army and after his return had  a daughter, Jo and a son, Pete.  They made their home in Poteau.  Paul was a long time banker with his father Homer.  He also was a real estate broker for many years.  Paul loved Poteau  and the people who lived there.  He was active in many organizations, some of which were boy scout leader, Kiwanis member, PVIA water board member, and First United Methodist Church finance board member.
          Paul was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He LOVED the outdoors.  Our family benefited from this, as we had a cabin and spent many happy days there enjoying the beautiful Black Fork River.  The one thing he might have enjoyed more, besides Sue's cooking, and also shared with his family, were season tickets to the OU football games for many years.  What a Sooner Fan!   Paul was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and recently Great-Grandfather, and will be greatly missed.  BOOMER SOONER DAD!  Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Sue C. Stottsberry and sister Patsy Mings.
          Survivors include Dr. Martin & Jo Jones(daughter) Lawton, OK, Kenneth "Pete" (son) and Renee Stottsberry of Ft. Smith, AR, Carlo Swartz (longtime close friend) of Monroe, OK; granddaughters, Morgan & Orlando Carter of Lawton, OK, Caitlin Jones of Elgin, OK, Kathryn (Conner) Jones of OKC; great granddaughter, Teagan Jo Carter of Lawton, OK; granddaughters, Lane & Brad Scott of Denton, TX, Lacey & Frank Cardoza of Dallas, TX; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
      Services will be 11 am, Friday, December 1, 2017 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion with Phil McGehee officiating.    Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Lung Cancer Research, 825 NE 13th, OKC, OK 73104 (OMRF.org);  Peachtree Hospice, 203 N. Broadway, Poteau, OK; or First United Methodist Church, 109 S. Harper St., Poteau, 74953.
    We would like to recognize these people for their kind and loving care of Dad: Vicki Darnell, Christie Gream, Brandi Lovell, Sandi Roberts, Jake Lovell, Jessica Sockey & Pernilla Sanders.  A very special thank you to Carlo Swartz whose devotion to our Dad was amazing.  We don't know what we or he would have done without Carlo.

Howard Bandy Sr.



Howard Bandy Sr., 65, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday November 27, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Howard was born August 29, 1952 in Tarby, OK to John Roy & Alline (Wise) Bandy.  He worked for Whirlpool for 38 years.  Howard was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Smith & husband Billy Jack "Boy" Sr., Nephews, Billy Jack Smith and John Smith.



Survivors include his son, Howard Bandy Jr. & wife Amanda; daughter, Misty McGee & husband Cody; grandchildren, Darrick Brown, Cortney & husband Anthony Stankewitz, Quinncy & Browning Bandy, Kaydence McGee & Braelyn McGee; great grandchild, Reagan Stankewitz; brother, Lee Roy & Gayle Bandy; sister, Jeanette Chronister; nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev Clyde Steelman officiating.  Interment will follow in Monroe Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Billy Shawn Terry & Billy Jack Terry.



The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Yvonne Dassler


Yvonne Meeks Liles Dassler, 77, of Wister, OK passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Yvonne was born January 29, 1940 in Wister, OK to Vernon Mutt & Bessie Iva (Box) Meeks.  She was a real estate broker.  Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rocky Liles; brothers, Kenneth, Carrol, Gerald & Melvin Meeks and Claude Smith.



Survivors include her sons, Vernon Dwayne "Bernie" Liles & wife Diane, Eddie Shane Liles & wife, Deborah; daughter, Debbie Been & husband Larry; grandchildren, Sheyenne Liles, Carmella Liles, Adam Liles, Donald Brown & Michael Brown; brothers, Wayne Meeks and Mack Smith; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 3 pm, Thursday, November 30, 2017 graveside at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK with Jeff Liles officiating.  Interment will follow.  Pallbearers will be Adam Liles, Brandon Hemphill, Tanner Ward, Trent King,  Logan Titsworth, Lane Titsworth & Colby Brown.



The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
