Brian Thompson


Brian Edward Thompson, 45, of Poteau, OK  passed away on July 25, 2018.  Brian was born April 8, 1973 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Brian graduated from Poteau High School and lived most of his life in LeFlore County.  At the time of his passing, Brian was living in Pawhuska, OK and employed by an enterprise of the Pioneer Woman.     Brian will be remembered for his good nature, wry humor, and keen sense of mischief.  Brian’s gentle spirit will live on in his children, whom he greatly adored.  He was an avid outdoor enthusiast and spent his best days with a fishing pole in hand.  He loved arrowhead hunting & antique collecting.   Brian, a big kid himself, loved spending time with all the little people in his life.  Brian will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.  He was predeceased by his grandparents, William & Charlotte Stephens of Coweta, OK, Elton & Dorene Thompson of Poteau; uncle  Larry Thompson of Poteau, aunt Cecilia Hall of Vera, OK & former father in law, Jay Wilmeth of Poteau.

Brian is survived by his beloved children Kohl, Jantz and Jayden Thompson, all of Van Buren, AR; his mother, Frances Thompson; father, Glenn Thompson & wife Sandra of Poteau, OK;  his sisters, Kelli Thompson & her children, Lexi, Darah  & Brodi of Poteau, Randie Thompson & husband Jon Atkins,  her children Oliver & Annabel of Denver, CO; former spouse  & mother in law, Jennifer Thompson & Gaylene Park of Van Buren, AR; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am, Monday, July 30, 2018, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK  with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Randie Thompson, Dustin McLaughlin, Keith Armstrong, Lyle Thomas, Kohl Thompson, Jantz Thompson & Zac Cook.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm to visit with friends & relatives.

Fred Parham


James Fred Parham, 67, of Roland, OK passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Roland.  Fred was born June 17, 1951, in Poteau, OK to Luther A. & Bonita Mae (Guss) Parham. Fred served as a medic in the Vietnam War with the US Army.  He graduated from Colorado State with a B.S. and worked as a quality engineer in plastics manufacturing.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jimmy, Glen & Jerry Parham.

          Survivors include his wife, Angela (Cook) Parham; daughters, Jessica Parham & Alison Parham; siblings, Iris Horne, Donna Wright & Retha Parham of Van Buren, AR, Mike Parham of Stillwater, OK, Tom Parham of  Livermore, CA, Rickey Parham of Alma, AR & Reba Brew of Springfield, MO; other relatives, loved ones and friends..

          Memorial services will be 4 pm, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Evans Memorial Chapel, Pocola, OK .

Cordelia N. Newnam


Cordelia N. Newnam, 84, of  Broken Arrow, OK passed away Monday,  July 23, 2018 in Broken Arrow.  Cordelia was born March 29, 1934 in Poteau, OK to Homer McCurtain & Pearl (Butler) Tucker.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Newnam; brother & sisters, Mary Lou, Jerome, Wanda Camp & Doris Graves.
          Survivors include her daughter, Christina “Crissy” Crowley & Patricia Newnam Bond; grandchildren, Kahlie Warren & Tommy Crowley, Terry Jones, Beau Hanninen, Jesse Hanninen; numerous great grandchildren; stepchildren, Billy Don, Linda & Susan; sister, Nancy Mendenhall; nieces & nephews, Charlie, Judy, Karen, Ralph, Missy, April & Mike; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau with Jim Cook officiating.

Sammy Eacret


 Sammy Lloyd Eacret, 59, of Clearlake, CA (formerly of Poteau, OK) passed away  Saturday,  July 14, 2018. Sammy was born September 20, 1958, in Forney, TX to James Patterson & Gloria F. (Allred)  Eacret.  Sammy was  an automotive service advisor.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Eacret; mother, Gloria Eacret; son, Chas Eacret; sister & brother in law, Pam & Scott Sanders; stepdaughters & son in law, Dena Guinn, Angie & Josh Wade; brother in law & wife, Robert & Jean Ann Thompson; grandchildren, Eli & Haylee Wade; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 1 pm, Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Monroe Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Josh Wade, Robert Thompson, Rich Ogulin, Eli Wade, Brian Dameron, Jeremy Wade.  Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Thompson and Scott Sanders.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-7 pm to visit with
relatives & friends.

Tina Marie Williams


 Tina Marie Williams, 49, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 in Poteau.  Tina  was born February 15, 1969, in Ft. Smith, AR to Bill Elsworth & Betty Charlene (Loudermilk) Williams. 
          Survivors include her children, Derrick Wayne Bynum, Jessica Bynum & Robert J. Camel; 7 grandchildren; her father, Bill & wife  Carrie Williams; sisters, Kathy Newby, Shawna Parsons & Ashley Underwood; brother, Bill Williams Jr; numerous nieces, nephews.
          Private services will be held at a later date.
