Errica Ann Sisson, 37, of Wister, OK passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in Fort Smith, AR. Errica was born April 21, 1972 in Pueblo, CO to David D. & Sheila (Bennett) Davis. She was a homemaker and day care operator. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kelly Bennett and Sylvia Bennett; Glenn's paternal grandparents, Tom & Margie Johnson; & Glenn's maternal grandparents, Mildred & OC Sampson. Pallbearers will be Mitch Sampson, Cott Shadwick, Russell Broussard, George Midgley, Lance Midgley & Cody Shipman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Julian Migues and Lewis Lynch. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Friday evening to visit with relatives & friends.

Jimmie Charles Martin

Jimmie Charles Martin, 67, of Shady Point, OK passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Shady Point, OK. He was born in Buck Creek (Panama), Oklahoma on December 10, 1941, to Otto & Mary (Wiles) Martin. Jimmie attended Barber School. After getting out of high school he joined the Army then worked on the pipeline for 18 years as an x-ray technician before becoming a swine farmer. Jimmie loved playing music, hunting, fishing, cooking & gardening. He was known for his great fudge. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and an infant daughter. Survivors include his wife, Linnie Martin of the home; son, Michael Martin of Shady Point, OK, daughter, Miranda Martin of Shady Point, OK, brothers & sister in law, Jack & Billie Martin of Shady Point, OK, James Martin of Panama, OK; sisters and brothers in law, Joyce & Bill Minnis of Fort Smith, AR, Donna Kendrick of Poteau, OK, Linda & Robert Brown of Poteau, OK; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Robert Allen Walker

Robert Allen Walker, 50, of Cameron, OK passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Fort Smith, AR. Robert was born December 27, 1958 in Fort Chaffee, AR to W.T. & Sue Carol (Allen) Walker. Robert was a truck driver. He loved to fish and play on the computer. Survivors include his wife, Janell K. Walker of the home; son, Robert Allen Walker Jr of Gaithersburg, MD.; mother, Sue Grosskopf; 2 sisters, Susan Michelle Hoffman of Gaithersburg, Maryland & Margaret Faye Walker of Greenwood, Delaware; brother, James Walker of Branden, Florida; stepchildren, Lisa McCarty of Perry, OK, Billy Vincent of Spiro, OK, & Tyrell Bryan of the home; 4 Grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Harold W. Wood

Harold W. Wood, 73, of Alma, AR, formerly of Shady Point, OK , passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Harold was born on May 6, 1936 to Dan & Anna Mary George. He was a school teacher for 30+ years at Alma before his retirement. Harold’s parents precede him in death. Harold is survived by special friends, Jackie Harris of Panama, OK; Ron Pschier of Fort Smith, AR, & Jerry Oliver of Alma, AR; numerous cousins, other relatives, loved ones, & many beloved friends. Funeral services for Harold were held at 1:00 pm Monday, October 26, 2009 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, OK with the Reverend Phil McGehee officiating. Interment followed the services in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK with arrangements under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK. Pallbearers were Mark Center, James Jones, & Eugene Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Harris, Ron Pschier, & Jerry Oliver.

Kenneth James Clark

Kenneth James Clark, 64, of Bokoshe, OK passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 in Spiro, OK. Kenneth was born April 6, 1945 in Bolivar, PA to Lawrence W. & Ruth (Brett) Clark. Kenneth was a coal miner where he served as a foreman for over thirty years. Prior to his mining experience he worked for Ford Motor Co. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Crusan; brother, Samuel Clark; and son in law, Kenneth Orton. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Clark of the home; 4 children, Michelle & Raymond Mazzaferro of Hurrican, WV, Kenneth Allan Clark of Blairsville, PA, Tammy Orton of Bokoshe, OK, Shawn & Kisha Clark of Ft. Smith, AR; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Mazzaferro, Ryan Mazzaferro, Andrea Mazzaferro, Jessica Orton, Nathan Orton, Gabrielle Clark; great granddaughter, Haylee Mazzaferro; brother, Harry Clark of PA, sister, Virginia Stewart of PA, stepsister, Florence Jervis of PA. Services will be held 10 am, Friday, October 23, 2009 in Immaculate Conception Chatholic Church in Poteau with Father Don Tranel officiating.

Jo Anne Jones

Jo Anne Jones, 81, of Wister, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009 in Wister, OK. Jo Anne was born on April 29, 1928 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Frederick & Ethel (Beaver) Jones. She was a veteran of the US Navy and was a Medicare Fraud Specialist for DHS until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, her paternal grandparents George & Mary Van Antwerp Jones & her paternal grandparents, Austin & Mary Gilfelten Beaver. Jo Anne is survived by a special friend, Susanna Davis of Wister, OK; numerous cousins, other relatives & loved ones and many beloved friends. Funeral services for Jo Anne were held at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with the Reverend Ed Cunningham officiating. Interment was on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma with arrangements under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Wanda M. Austin

Wanda M. Austin, 80, of Poteau, Oklahoma passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 in Poteau. She was born in Poteau on March 12, 1929 to Guy T. & Ida (Porter) Brown. Mrs. Austin was a member of the First Christian Church in Poteau. She was a devoted wife and mother who spent time taking care of Brian. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Austin and her parents. Survivors include her son, Brian Keith Austin of Poteau, OK; 5 sisters, Juanita Peters of Poteau, OK, Anna Creamer of Sapulpa, OK, Ida Reed of Poteau, OK, Mary Powledge of Granbury, TX, & Nancy Montoya of Sapulpa, OK; 2 brothers, James R. Brown of Dallas, TX and Guy L. "Buddy" Brownof Poteau, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services will be held 2 pm, Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Poteau with the Rev. Dennis Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK with pallbearers Marc Bovos, Paul Saneman, Ron Hall and Sam Gentry. The family will visit with friends and family on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Gary Edwin Morseth, 59, of Bokoshe, OK passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2009 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Gary was born on November 17, 1949 in St. Paul, MN. He was a veteran of the US Army and an auto mechanic. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Nicole Morseth; 2 brothers; 1 sister, & his parents, Bennie Edwin & Melvina (Ronning) Morseth. Gary is survived by his wife, Laura Lea Morseth (Jewell Pauline Flaherty); 2 daughters & sons in law Jewell Pauline & Jeffrey Lynn Birchfield of Wister, OK & Tiffany Marie & Lane Hicks of Cameron, OK; 5 grandchildren, Mason Morseth, Vanessa Cheyanne Valhalla Morseth, Autumn Champagne Birchfield, Hannah Carolea Hicks, & Jacob Faye Birchfield; 3 sisters & brothers Linda & Ed Leehe of Wisconsin, Lila Morrell of New York, & Jeannie & Larry Chesney of Minnesota; biological mother Olga Holden of Wisconsin; a son Shawn Paul Morseth of Oregon; numerous other relatives & loved ones & many beloved friends. Graveside services for Gary were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN with the Reverend Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Interment followed the services with arrangements under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK.

KATHERINE SCOTT HUGHEY

Katherine Scott Hughey, 98, of Dewey, OK (formerly of Poteau, OK) passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in Dewey. Katherine was born September 23, 1911 in Cameron, OK to Walter & Ella (Hill) Scott). Her parents and 6 siblings preceded her in death. Katherine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poteau, OK. She retired from teaching school after 36 years. Survivors include her husband, Ira Hughey of Dewey, OK; daughter & son in law, Kay Hughey Riling and Gene Riling of Bartlesville, OK, son and daughter in law, Ronald Edward & Carol Hughey of Montoursville, PA; 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services held 2 pm, Monday, October 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Poteau, OK with Rev. Phil McGehee officiating. Interment following in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Pallbearers Sam Abbott, Waylon Groom, Joe Smith, Don Chitwood, Jim Mixon, and Flip Wilson. Honorary pallbearers F.L. Holton and Odean Nichols.

Thomas Jacob Worley III

Thomas J. Worley III, 57 of Shady Point Ok passed away Tuesday Oct. 6, 2009. He was born Nov. 12, 1951 in Camp Crowder, Missouri to Thomas Jacob Worley Jr. and Hannah Edith Worley. The family settled first in Norman, OK (where his father attended the University of Oklahoma) and then to Oklahoma City in 1953 eventually having two younger sons. Tom graduated from Capitol Hill High School where he discovered a life-long passion for music regularly performing in choral groups and church choirs throughout his life. He was blessed by the birth of his daughter Rebecca Ruth Worley on Aug. 7, 1971. Tom met Kathryn Lynn Hood in Nov. 1977 and they married on Nov. 17, 1979 residing in Oklahoma City until 1993 then moving to Shady Point, OK, becoming proud members of the First Christian Church in Poteau and Tom joined the church choir. Tom shared Kathy’s love of dogs, together breeding and showing award winning white German Shepherds. Tom worked 28 years for AT&T as a Communication Service Tech until retirement in 2006. Following retirement from AT&T he was employed by Exterran, and Service Compression. Tom was a fervent sports fan and especially passionate about OU Football with his earliest memories those of witnessing the Sooners record 47 game winning streak from 1953 to 1957. Being an avid classic car enthusiast, he enjoyed building, owning and showing various 70’s model muscle cars. The most important part of Tom’s life was his devotion to and enjoyment of his cherished family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Jacob Worley Jr. and survived by beloved wife, Kathryn (Hood)Worley of Shady Point; treasured daughter, Rebecca (Worley)Elrod of OKC; mother, Hannah Worley of OKC; brothers, John Worley & wife Sherry of Princeton, TX, William Worley & wife Erin of Yukon, OK; Granddaughters, Tara Elrod and Heaven Elrod of OKC, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family including John & Barbara (Hood)Garrard, Ralph & Debbie Hood, Bobby & Laura Anderson and Rick & Jamie Johnston. The Worley’s will greet friends and family Friday evening from 6-8:00pm at Evans & Miller Funeral Homes - 411 Dewey – Poteau, OK. Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at 2:00pm at First Christian Church – 208 N. Witte – Poteau, OK. Interment will be Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at 11:00am in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.
