MARCUS BISHOP ALEXANDER LUMAN




Marcus Bishop Alexander Luman, 41, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday,  January 30, 2016 in Poteau, OK.  Marcus was born July 25, 1974 in McAlester, OK  to Kenneth & Deloris (Pryor) Luman.  Marcus was a truck driver.  Marcus was preceded in death by his step brother James Woods.

Marcus touched so many lives with his energy, free spirit, loving presence and generosity.  Marcus never met a stranger.  He had tremendous love for his family and friends.  He was a kind gentle loving man.  His humor and his smile, always the center of attention, filled every room he entered.  He was the life of the party & always every ones  "favorite".  Marcus spent many years providing services to those in need in our community through both Kibois, Inc in Poteau & the Crisis Intervention Center in Ft. Smith, AR.  He will forever be in the hearts of those who had the privilege & honor of knowing him.  He will be missed & forever loved.

 Survivors include his parents, Kenneth & Susie Luman of Heavener, OK,  Deloris & Don Woods of Ft. Smith, AR:  sister, Lena and Bo Medlock of Spiro, OK; Nephew, Mason Medlock, of Spiro; Step Sisters and Brothers, Allison Maze, Robin Woods, Kim Shields, Robbie Woods, and his faithful St. Bernard, Wellsley of the home, other relatives, loved ones & friends.
   
Memorial Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Jim Cook officiating.  

The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7 pm on Tuesday evening to visit with family and friends.

Viola Elaine Anderson



Viola Elaine Anderson, 94, of  Panama, OK passed away Saturday, January 31, 2016 in Pocola, OK.  Elaine was born February 5, 1921 in Clarksville, AR to Ples Bailey & Hazel Ann (West) Sisco.    Elaine was a longtime resident of Panama.  She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend to many others.  She will be missed by all of us but never forgotten.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; sons, Leon & Dean; brother, Buck Sisco.   



Suvivors include her daughters & son in law, Norma & Edwin Burden of Wister, OK, Pamela Gail Goyette & Mike Robinson of  Howe, OK; son & daughter in law, Robert & Carolyn Anderson of Coyle, OK; brother, Roy Sisco of Panama, OK;  9 grandchildren, Teresa Garoutte & husband, J.R. of Marionville, MO, Ramona Roney of Woodbury, MN, Heather  Maker & husband Cory of Guthrie, OK; Melissa Scott & husband Rob of Coyle, OK; Gary Don Anderson of OKC, Kaye Anderson of OKC, Rickey Anderson, Lea Jay Eckhardt and Peggy Anderson; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm Monday, February 1, 2016 graveside at Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow.



The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 6-7 pm to visit with relatives and friends.

Edna Barnes




Edna Mae Barnes, 88, of Wister, OK passed away Saturday, January 23,  2016 in Heavener, OK.  Edna was born November 26, 1927 in Vinita, OK to Walter & Amy Ellen (Cumiford) Minson. 

Survivors include her sons, Rick Barnes of Wister, OK, Cody Barnes of Oregon, Michael Hall of Medford, OR, Gene Hall of Spokane, WA, Daughters in Law - Melanie Barnes, Kelly Hall & Susan Hall; grandchildren, Michael Barnes, Stormi Eaton, Sebastian Culbertson, Natasha Barnes, Jaden Barnes, Laini Barnes, Adelina Edna Barnes, Christopher Barnes, Brandie Barnes, Jennifer Hall, Rene Hall, Sherry Hall & Era Hall; great grandchildren, Kingsly Sandoval, Logan Eaton, Gracelyn Eaton, Audrey Culbertson, Vicgtoria Rose, MacKenzie Mateo, Payton Mateo and Joseph Reed; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Memorial services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Mt. View Baptist Church, Wister, OK with Rev. Tim Trent officiating. 

Larry Sutton



 George Larry Sutton, 68, of Poteau, OK passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 in Poteau.  Larry was born August 29, 1947, in Van Nuys, CA to Mutt & Evelyn (Morris) Sutton.  He was a corpsman in  the US Navy  and was a retired LPN after working in LeFlore County for over 20 years.  Larry loved woodworking and was an avid reader.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Misty Nicole Sutton and wife, Kathy Sutton.

Survivors include his daughter & son in law, Telisha & Gene Loyd & their children, Hayden & Baylie Brown of Poteau;  stepson, Donnie Eastep & wife Jennifer & their children, Cody, Brandon, and Alex of  Lees Summit, MO; sisters, Nina & Don Dixon of Vinita, OK, Rose & Dennie Brown of Tahlequah, OK; brother, Chip & Norma Sutton of Glenpool, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Memorial services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Glen Newburn officiating.
