Larry Didway



Larry Eules Didway, 62, of Panama, OK passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017, in Fort Smith, AR.  Larry was born October 25, 1955, in Bokoshe, OK to Howard Glen & Loretta (Fields) Didway.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  Larry was parts manager at Smith Chevrolet.  He was preceded in death by his parents;  his stepdad, James Appel and sister, Lisa Gay.



Survivors include his wife, Raylene of the home; daughter, Jamie  & husband Eric Anderson; son, Karry & wife Jennifer  Didway; 2 grandchildren; sisters, Nema Barden, Glenda Phillips, Starla Couch, Leah Knox and Crystal Nichols; brother, Howard Didway; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Memorial service will be 2 pm, Friday, January 5, 2018, at Solid Rock Church in Panama, OK .  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Panama.

Wilbur D. Short



Wilbur Dale Short, 92, of Cameron, OK passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 in Cameron.  Wilbur was born September 3, 1925 in Heavener, OK to Othur T. & Lydia (Dorsey) Short.  He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII.  Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Othur "Ted" & Lydia Short;  wife, Winifred; daughter, Loretta Roberts & brother, Welton Short.



Survivors include his daughters & their spouses, Leona & Phil Bridges of Walkerton, IN, Wilburta & Bruce Lancaster of Cameron, OK, Carolyn & David Henson of Jasper, TX, Marie & Billy Campbell of Crandell, TX; son & spouse, M.E. "Butch" & Nelle Short of Bluff Dale, TX; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Lula B. Attebery of Broken Arrow, OK, Juanita Kannady of Heavener, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 10 am, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Oscar Aguerro officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK.

Cherry Dalmut



Cherry Catherine Dalmut, 67, of Poteau, OK, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in Ft. Smith, AR.  Cherry was born December 22, 1950,  in Poteau, OK to Gene & Ellen (Emerson) Chandler.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Emily; sisters, Norma Jean Chandler, Pansy Bishop & Gloria Hargrove; brother, Dwayne Chandler.



Survivors include her husband Joe of the home; son Joe Dalmut Jr. & wife Robin of Shady Point, OK; grandchildren, Madison & Chance; 5 sisters, Virginia Horn, Daisy Chandler, Wanda Clay & husband Floyis, Rosemary Chandler, Joyce Piguet & husband Jerry; sister in law, Judy Chandler;  numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 10 am, Friday, December 29, 2017, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau OK with Brian Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.  Pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Piguet Jr, Gene Chandler, Cody Piguet, Joshua Piguet, Nick Wann and Michael Hargrove.


Sonja McAllister-Thomas



Sonja Ursula McAllister-Thomas, 48, of Poteau, OK, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in Poteau.  Sonja was born February 27, 1969 in Miltenberg, Germany to Albert & Dietlinde Maria (Gerstberger) Zettl. 



She is survived by her husband, Joe K. Thomas III; son, Travis Allen Ray McAllister; daughters, Kelly Dianna Maria McAllister & Jessika Marie McAllister Everett; son in law, Carl Everett; granddaughter, Aurora Jane Everett; her parents; sisters, Angela Brunhilde Wenzel & Dianna Erika Fischinger; nieces, Jasmin Fischinger and Laura; nephews, Patrick Wenzel , Manuel Fischinger; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 10 am, Saturday, December 30, 2017,  at  the  Faith Community Church  of the Nazarene, Poteau, OK  with Brian Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.



The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Terry Lynn Hickman



Terry Lynn Hickman, 69, of  Poteau, OK passed away Monday, December 25, 2017, in Ft. Smith, AR.  Terry was born March  21, 1948, in Panama, OK to James Franklin & Ioma Mae (Butcher) Hickman.  He played Panama HS football; graduating in 1966.  He worked hard to achieve the honor of being the first FFA All American Farmer & Rancher in LeFlore County.  He was a proud father & grandfather.  Terry was a successful business and land owner.  He operated Super Burgers and car washes in Poteau, Heavener & Wilburton.  He had a passion for traveling the world.  In Europe he visited Russia and Amsterdam to name a few; Mexico, Central & South America; enjoyed site-seeing which included visiting museums and monuments and meeting friends along the way.  Terry was proud of  his brother James  becoming Indy 500  Top Rookie in 1982.   He enjoyed  the time he spent working on the ranch with his brother Hercel.  Terry was also proud of his Choctaw Heritage and was an avid Oklahoma Sooner Fan.  He was very proud to be the son of a Confederate.  He was very patriotic,  loved his country and the Lord.   He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Teri Marie; granddaughter, Brooke Lauren Baker; brother, James.

Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Baker of Kettering, OH; sons, Justin Hickman of Fairborn, OH, Shane Hickman of Poteau, OK; 5 grandchildren;  brother, Hercel of Panama, OK; other relatives, friends and loved ones.

Services will be 2 pm, Friday, December 29, 2017, in Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Panama, OK.  The family will be at the funeral home on Friday from 1pm until service time to visit with relatives & friends.
