Kathy Osburn



Kathy Christine Osburn, 52, of Cameron, OK passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Tulsa, OK.   Kathy was born February 13, 1963 in Wilmington, CA to Jesse & Ruby Louise (Brown) Hurlocker.  She worked in healthcare.  Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Louise Gregory and husbands, Mirl Osburn & Leroy Grass.



Survivors include her daughters, Heather Jones of Drumright, OK, Amber Goff of Claremore, OK, Nicole Osburn & Casey Osburn of Odessa, TX; son, Derek Osburn of Midland, TX; father, Jess & Donna Hurlocker of Central City, AR; sisters, Terri & Paul Riley of Ft. Smith, AR, Susan Hurlocker & Eddy Reed of Rock Island, OK; brothers, Jeffery Hurlocker of Central City, AR, Tim Hurlocker of Ft. Smith, AR; stepfather, Conrad Gregory of Poteau, OK; 4 grandchildren, Darren Jones, Leon Goff Jr., Trevor Jones, and Bryce Goff; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Richard Hurlocker officiating.  Interment will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Monroe, OK.  Pallbearers will be Joe Trull, Jarod Goforth, Darren Jones, Leon Goff, Dar Ringlen, Paul Riley.



The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.


Cathleen Robin Vaughan



Cathleen Robin Vaughan, 54 of Cameron, OK passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Fort Smith, AR.  Cathleen was born April 21, 1961 in Pomona, CA to Clinton “Short” & Alma (Winebrenner) Goforth.  She was an LPN.   Cathleen loved spending time with her kids & family.  She loved family gatherings.  She enjoyed watching her children & grandchildren play sports, her water aerobics, baking, her dogs,  and traveling.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Don of the home; daughter & son in law, Amy & Jeff McCoy of Poteau; sons, Jason Reeves & fiance’ Katrina Broussard of Cameron, OK,  Clinton Reeves of Poteau, OK; grandchildren, Triniti & Colton McCoy, Jocee Broussard  & one on the way; sisters, Renee Baggs of Cameron, OK, Cindy Tanton of Poteau, OK; brothers & sisters in law, Don Goforth of Poteau, OK,  Mike & Carol Goforth of Lewisville, TX, Tag & Lisa Goforth of Midland, TX; countless cousins, nieces, & nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Evans Chapel, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.    Pallbearers will be Chris McCoy, Michael Dacus, Michael Seymour, Brandon Slone, Derek McGowan, Joel Chavez, Taylor Branstetter, and Taylor Shockley.

James “Irvin” Jones



James “Irvin” Jones, 60, of Panama, OK passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR.   James was born January 5, 1955 in Arcata, CA to William “Babe” and Sarah (Anderson) Jones.  James was preceded in death by his parents, and his niece Sabrina Chenault.

Survivors include his brothers, Jack Jones of Panama, OK, Donald “Topper” Jones and wife Jody of  Spiro, OK; sisters Karen Jones of Owasso, OK, Patricia Jones Nelson and John Beebe of Panama, OK; nieces Ashlee Jones of Spiro, OK, Alicia Jones Frey of Franklin, NJ, Haley of Owasso, OK; nephews, Jacob Nelson of Spiro, OK, Jeremy Nelson of Bokoshe, OK, Jeremy Jones of Sherman, TX, Matthew and Sam Jones of Spiro, OK; lifelong friend, Ronald Gollihare; a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2015 graveside at Fairview Cemetery in Panama, OK, with Rev. Jim Cook and Bro. Carson officiating. 

Martha Raye Smith



Martha Raye Smith, 74, of Heavener, OK passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 in Heavener.  Martha was born February 12, 1941 in Shreveport, LA to William Raye & Grace (Lafitte) Young.  She was a child care provider.  Martha was a very devoted Christian woman & member of Ellis Chapel Church; enjoyed reading her Bible; a loving wife, mother & grandma.  She loved to travel.  Martha played the piano, sang & wrote music.  She loved to paint.  She was preceded in death by her father and twin children.

Survivors include her husband Earl Smith of the home; her longtime companion “Jack” the dog; daughter, Kathy  & Claude Smith of Heavener; sons, Jay, Kelly & Dayton Smith all of Heavener; grandchildren, Stephen Smith of Heavener, Krystal Haag of Dallas, TX, Cody Smith of Heavener; mother, Grace Young, Sister, Carolyn  & Jimmy Wilson; brother, Billy & Jennifer Young all of Louisiana; niece, Ashley Wilson; nephews, Tommy, Joey & Scott Wilson, Chad Young; very special friend, Brenda Wright; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 1 pm, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Evans Chapel, Poteau, OK with Revs. Jack Covey & Charlie Scott officiating.

Marvaline W. Lynch



Marvaline W. Lynch, 86, currently of Ft. Smith, AR passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 in Ft. Smith.  Marvaline was born July 29, 1928 in Cameron, OK to John T. & Idell (Hardin) Files.  She was a retired nurse.  Mrs. Lynch was a longtime resident of OKC and was employed at Deaconess Hospital for 43 years.  She attended Tulakes Bapist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin D. Lynch; her parents; and brothers, Olen & James

Survivors include her son & daughter in law, Thomas E. & Carol F. Lynch of Poteau, OK; grandsons, Clinton W. Steeds of Los Angeles, CA and Dr. Craig M. Steeds, of Kansas City, MO; other relatives, loved ones & friends.

Vina Francis Glenn



Vina Francis Glenn, 95, of Cameron, OK passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Spiro, OK.  Vina was born February 19, 1920 in McAlester, OK to John & Ella (Fulton) Talburt.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cameron.  She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Glenn in 1991; her parents; brother, Bill Talburt; sister, Lillie Thomas and granddaughter, Kimberly Adams.



Survivors include her daughters, Lois Adams of Spiro, OK, Wanda Warren and Beatrice Watts of Ft. Smith, AR; 5 grandchildren, Joann Tollinson, Mike Adams, Kristie & Tracie Warren and Roger Watts; 4 great grandchildren, Amanda & Adam Richard, Adam & J.T. Musgrove; 2 great great grandchildren, Rylan Richard and Carver Hardwick; 2 nephews, Richard Thomas & Henry Dalton; 3 great nieces, Sandra Richards, Shelly Anderson, Tammy Trout; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



  Services will be 10 am, Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Greenhill Cemetery Pavilion, Cameron, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow.  Pallbearers will be Mike Adams, Roger, Jason, & Rick Watts, Mark King, Adam Musgrove.  Honorary pallbearer will be J.T. Musgrove.



The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Zelan Alnita "Nino" Vaughn



Zelan Alnita “Nino” Vaughn, 67, of Wister, OK passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Oklahoma City, OK.  Nino was born January 3, 1948 in Stockton, CA to James & Margaret (Midgley) Donaho.  She was manager at Donaho Stone.  Nino was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vaughn, son, Tom Vaughn and her father, JC Donaho.



Survivors include her children, James Vaughn, Patricia Hildebrant and Tim Vaughn all of Wister, OK; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; mother, Margaret Donaho of Wister; brothers, Duane, Dennis & Don Donaho; sisters, Jerri Pennington and Denise Donaho all of Wister; other relatives, loved ones and many friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Friday, April 3, 2015 graveside at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, of with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Burial will follow.

Dick Searles



Richard Edwin “Dick” Searles, 70, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 in Poteau.  Dick was born in Haverhill, MA on July 24, 1944 to Walter & Margaret (Batchelder) Searles.  Dick was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poteau & Scottish Rite of Freemasonry & a member of the Poteau Masonic Lodge #46 for 40 years.  Dick was a veteran of the US Army.  He came to Oklahoma at the age of 19 beginning his work career with Poteau Motor Company after which he worked two years for Holton’s business office.  He spent 19 years with Johnson Control in Poteau and Kentucky, 13 years with Clarion Mfg. in Walton, KY, 13 years with Kenton County Sheriff’s office.  He was preceded in death by his parents & his son, Doyle Wayne Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bessie “Louise” Searles and daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Ann Schmitz; granddaughters, Abigail “Abby” Schmitz, Aracely Ortiz and Sharolyn Bravo; many family members and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Poteau, OK with  Phil McGehee, Frank Harris, Larry Harris & Tom Chapelle sharing memories.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mike Pritchett, Larry Henry, Bob Lindstrom, JR. Sockey, Bill Hoffman,  Bert Corr, Bob Dorey and Steve Schmitz.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Masonic Lodge.

The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.



SCOTTY CLARK



Donald Scott “Scotty” Clark, 35, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Scotty was born September 19, 1979 in Poteau, OK to Donald Ray & Rose (Gates) Clark.  He worked for LeFlore County District #2.  He was preceded in death by his parents & his grandparents, Barney & Ethel Clark. 



Survivors include his wife, Melissa of the home; children, Donald Scott Clark Jr. & Dakotah Lynn Clark; special mother & father, Brad & Darlene Seaman of Howe, OK; sisters, Jessica & Shawn Drury, Stacey & Jeff Lane, Abbey Seaman; brother, Joey & Claudia Seaman; numerous nieces, nephews, many special friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, April  15, 2015 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Harry Keeton, Steven Cauthon and Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron.  Pallbearers will be the employees of County District #2.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joey and Brad Seaman & Kenny Perry.

Syble Marteen White

Syble Marteen (Hemphill)White was born February 27, 1932 in Reichert, Oklahoma to James Hemphill and Opal (Cogburn) Hemphill. She passed away April 8th to her Heavenly home at the age of 83 years. She was the oldest of three daughters. On March 3, 1948 she married the love of her life O.J. White. To this union five children were born and they raised their children in a loving Christian home. She worked as a cashier several years at the Riverside Red-X in Riverside, Missouri and then several years for Muehlbach Thriftway in Parkville, Missouri. Syble was very creative and enjoyed ceramics, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She loved having her family together for holiday dinners. Syble & O.J. were members of Open Door Baptist Church and later, New Covenant Church.
Syble is preceded in death by her parents, sister Dona Newell, infant granddaughter Emily Faxon.
Survivors include her husband O.J. White of Kansas City, Missouri,  sister Evelyn Brown (J.R.) of Poteau, children,  Jerry White (Shirley) of Kansas City, Missouri, Janice White of St. Joseph, Missouri, David (Barbara) White of Galena, Kansas, Sheila White of Osceola, Missouri and Jeffrey Alan (Leesa) White of Kansas City, Kansas, 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Thursday, April 16, 2015 graveside at Reichert Cemetery, Reichert, OK.

Nancie Anne Gordon

Nancie Anne Gordon, 73, of  Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR. Nancie was born October 25, 1941 to V.E. "Jack" & Helen (Thompson) Gordon.  She worked at Buckley - now - Patrick Lynch Library in Poteau for over 21 years.  She was an active member of Faith Community Church of the Nazarene as well as a beautiful Soprano II  in the Cavanal Chorale and  board secretary for the Salvation Army for many years..   Nancie Anne was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robin Gordon.
She will be greatly missed by her friends who survive her.  She was a wonderful "Lady".
  Services will be 1 pm -   Monday afternoon, April 13, 2015 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion.

James Wesley Goff



James “Jimmy” Wesley Goff, 63, of Harrison, AR (formerly of Panama, OK) died Sunday, April 5, 2015 in  Harrison, AR.  He was born September 21, 1951 in Bakersfield, CA to James William & Dorthy Faye (Russell) Goff.   Jimmy graduated from Panama High School in 1969 and completed Kiamichi Vo-Tech in 1974.  He was a member of The Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #344.  He was also a Vietnam Veteran.  He loved to hunt and fish, play with his dog Onrey, and telling stories about his kids and grandkids.  He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Robert Moore and sister, Francis Fox.

Survivors include his wife Janice Elaine Goff of the home; 3 sons, Jarrod Goff & wife Danielle of Poteau, Kaleb Lewis of Hartford, AR and Ryann Hall of Harrison, AR; 3 daughters, Katherine Haag & husband Bob of Poteau, Katina Goff of Poteau, Maggie Libby and husband Chris of Springdale, AR; 2 brothers, Bob Moore and wife Carmen, Teddy Moore and wife Susan; 1 sister, Nina Johnson and husband Darris; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Debbie Martindale McCain



Deborah “Debbie” Ann Martindale McCain, 63, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in Poteau.  Debbie was born May 20, 1951 in Covington, KY to William & Deloris (Davis) Abdon.  She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Madison Akins.

She is survived by her children, Kelly Burrough & Donny Black, Randy Potter, Jennifer and Chris Akins and Cynthia Elliott; grandchildren, Cody Burrough, Bailey Burrough, Jayden & Jordan Potter and MacKenzie Akins; two brothers, Daniel Abdon and David Abdon and one sister, Darleen Seaman; several nieces and nephews here and in California; many other loved ones and friends.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Monday, April 6th at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK. 

Kenny "Pete" Jones



Kenny Joe “Pete” Jones, 57, of Heavener, OK passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Pete was born October 30, 1957 in Poteau, OK.  He worked on for OK Feed. 

Survivors include his daughter, Jordan & Matt Jones of Keota, OK; granddaughters, Jaxi and Jillian; mother of his child, Darla Brown of Spiro, OK; sister  & brother in law, Deborah & Tommy Mead of Heavener; brothers and sister in law, Tommy & Judy Jones, Gary “Frog” Jones; 8 nieces, 6 nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray the cost of the service.

Hollis S. Jones



Hollis Samuard Jones, 81, of Pocola, OK passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Pocola.  Hollis was born June 18, 1933 in Span Hill, KY to Boyd & Lena (Smith) Jones.  He was a mechanic at Smith Chevrolet.  Hollis was a veteran of the Korean War; an avid motorcyclist; a lifetime mechanic and a family man.  He enjoyed boating with his children & grandchildren, spending many weekends at the lake.  Hollis was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Roberta Jones & Maxine Warner and brother, Bronnie Jones

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee of the home; children, David Samuel Jones & Susan Constantine  of  Plano, TX, Clement Boyd & Becky Jones, Marie Elizabeth & Eddie Galvan all of Pocola, OK, Robert Earl Jones of McKinney, TX; 9 grandchildren, Drew Jones-Dehorney, Nicholas, James, Rosa & Colton Jones, Eddie Lee, Jesse, Martina and Victor Galvan; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Carter & Donna Jones of Champagne, IL, Sister, Wilda & Dick Coble of Cleveland, OH; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 11 am, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola,     OK.  Honorary pallbearers will be his grand and great grandchildren.  


Oscar Bell



Oscar Carlton Bell, 58, of Arkoma, OK passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Arkoma. Oscar was born March 11, 1957 in Clayton, OK to Oscar & Eliza “Lucille”  (Neal) Bell.  He was a truck driver.  Oscar was a veteran of the US Army. 

Survivors include his wife, Diana of the home; daughters, Tip Couch of Poteau, OK, Kristi Slicis of Van Buren, AR, Kaylee Gauthier of Arkoma, OK; sons, Dustin Bell of Ozark, AR, Oscar Lee Bell of Arkoma, OK; 5 grandchildren, Sumer, Justin, Phoenix, Kaleeya, Jedryk & Brittney; sister, Debbra Couch of Arkoma, Ok; brother, Robert Bell of Monarch, MT; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 11 am, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Pallbearers will be Terry Couch, Kevin Hutson, Adam Brandt, Michael Farthing, Joey Farthing, Dustin Bell & Robert Bell.
Oscar was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him!

Don Goad



Don L. Goad, 76, of Wister, OK passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Wister.  Don was born February 10, 1939 in Wister, OK to Robert Bost & Gladys N. (Heflin) Goad.  He was a timber logging contractor.    He loved to fish, hunt and play music.  He loved to play at the nursing home every Tuesday night.  Don was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Lea Goad; sisters, Mary Goad Mayberry, Linda Oliver, JoAnn Burleson.

Survivors include his son, Shawn Goad & Tammy of Wister, OK; daughter, Susan Goad Akers & Steve  of Poteau, OK; 8 grandchildren & spouses, Matthew Akers & Erin, Stephanie Gillham & Thad, Shawn Goad Jr. & Autumn, Waylon Goad & Tiffany, Aaron Goad, Cody Fox & Cristina, Nichole Callahan & Matt, Misty McBride & Joey; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Kay Clinton of Poteau, OK; other relatives, loved ones & many friends.
