Logan Howard

Logan Howard, 89. of Pocola, OK passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in Pocola. Logan was born May 15, 1921 in Mountainburg, AR to Fred & Texarkanna (Meadows) Howard. He was retired from civil service. Logan was a veteran of US Army, past president of the Pocola Lions Club, past president of Rural Water District #2. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, John & George Howard; 2 sisters, Lucille Gray & Louise Harris; and grandson, Stuart Jeremiah. Melvin LeRoy Tusing, 72, of Wister, OK went to be with his Lord Jesus Sunday, May 23, 2010 in Fort Smith, AR. Mel was born July 22, 1937 in Walla Walla, WA. He was a proud member of the VFW in Spiro, OK. He was a member of the Baptist Brotherhood of LeFlore County, an accomplished carpenter & a longtime member of the Lions Club. He was a church bus driver & boys Sunday School Class teacher for several of the churches he attended including Board Camp Baptist Church & Opal Free Will Baptist Church; he was also a Royal Ambassador Leader & a swim instructor for the Royal Ambassador swim team. He was preceded in death by Jackie Dean Bird Jr. Survivors include his wife, Lil Tusing of the home; daughters, Pamala Lucile of Bethesda, MD, Helen Faye Rice of Porter, OK; sons, Leon Tusing of Houston, TX, Keith Harvey Tusing of Phoenix, AZ, William "Bill" LeRoy Tusing of Houston, TX, John Albert Tusing, Christopher Luke Tusing of Atlanta, GA; 28 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Kyle Andrew Haskins, 23, of McAlester, OK passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 in Eufaula, OK. Kyle was born in Oklahoma City, OK on December 30, 1986 to Dennis & Sandra (Cogburn) Haskins. He worked in electronics. Kyle was a 2005 graduate of Edmond Memorial High School. He graduated from Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech in small engines and welding. He loved the outdoors; fishing and hunting. He was always doing something to help others. He practiced the second part of the great commandment 'love your neighbors as yourself'. He love his sisters very much - always ending his phone calls with "I love you". He loved his brother and his family very much. Kyle was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Cogburn. Lois Robison, 84 of Poteau, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2010 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Lois was born July 27, 1925 in Mena, Arkansas to Naler & Milo (Perry) Chamblin. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Poteau, a resident of Poteau for 63 years, a 50 year member of Beta Sigma Phi and was the bookkeeper for FL Holton’s stores for many years until her retirement. Her husband, Pat Robison; her son, Pat Robison Jr, a brother Errol Chamblin, a sister, Nalene Williams and her parents precede her in death. Funeral services were held 2 pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James & Christine Slone & aunt, Diane Slone. Survivors include his parents; sister & brother in law, Renay & Chuck Lewis of Wister, OK; niece, Tammy Lewis of Poteau, OK; nephew, Nathan Lewis of Wister, OK; grand niece, Brylie Holland of Poteau, OK; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Noble Thompson Jr., 79, of Wister, OK passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Wister. Noble was born April 12, 1931 in Wister to Noble & Thelma (Shipman) Thompson. He was a service station owner. He loved to garden, fish and hunt. He was a member of Ellis Chapel Church in Wister, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Raye Liles and Dean Crisp of Amarillo, TX; and a granddaughter. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Wanda of the home; 4 daughters & sons in law, Linda & Mike Branch of Greenwood, AR, Janice Thompson of Poteau, OK, Pamela & Greg Free of Wister, OK, LaRaye & Phil Turnipseed of Poteau, OK; son & daughter in law, Noble & Anna Thompson III of Winfield, MO; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 sister & brother in law, Darlene & Quinton Sanders of Wister, OK; 1 brother & sister in law, Bill & Joann Thompson of Poteau, OK; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
