Thomas E. Baker


Thomas Edward Baker, 63, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Poteau.  Thomas was born April 9, 1955 in Poteau to Jess Thomas & Marie (McConnell) Baker.  God blessed Thomas & Peggy with almost 40 years of marriage.  They had two daughters, Britney & Alyssa as well as six grandchildren that meant the absolute world to him.  He was a businessman who loved his job & appreciated all of his customers.  He could talk to anybody – and did, ha.  He loved the outdoors.  He was an avid hunter – but his favorite outdoor time was with his grandkids.  He was a hard worker and a wonderful provider for his family.  He was quick to recognize Jesus Christ as his “Living Lord & Savior”.  He was a man of great faith and he will be truly missed.  Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Jess; grandparents, H.E. & Peg McConnell, Jack & Myrtle Baker.

Survivors include his wife of Peggy Sewell Baker; daughters & sons in law, Britney & Randal Dunn, Alyssa & Brandon Gregory of  Poteau, OK; 6 grandchildren, Grace Dunn, Nate Gregory, Emily Dunn, Zoey Dunn,  Drew Dunn &  Jess Gregory

;mother, Marie Baker of Fort Smith, AR; sisters & brother in law, Peggy & Butch Gilstrap of Poteau, Pam Cowan of Fort Smith, AR; nephews, Justin Hickman of OH, Brandon Jones of PA & Kale Cowan of TX; niece, Shannon Baker of OH; aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones and many friends.

         

Services will be 11 am, Tuesday, October  2, 2018 at Oakland  Cemetery  Pavilion, Poteau  with  Jim Cook  officiating.

Neal Prock


William “Neal” Prock, 77, of Ft Smith, AR passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Ft. Smith.  Neal was born February 27, 1941 in Williams, OK to W.H. & Dorothy (Butler) Prock.  He was pastor of Haven Heights Baptist Church in Ft. Smith for many years.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

          Survivors include his wife Nita of the home; sons, Tim & wife Lori Prock of Collinsville, OK, Mark Prock of Greenwood, AR; grandchildren, David & Nikki Prock, Daniel & Savannah Prock, Mason, Andrew & Marri Prock; Great Grandchild, Judah Prock; numerous cousins, other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.

          Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Haven Heights Baptist Church, Ft. Smith, AR with Dr. Tim Prock, Dr. Steve Young and Rev. Paul Walker officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK.  Pallbearers will be David, Daniel, Andrew & Mason Prock, Brent Pearce & David Newman.  Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Haven Heights Baptist Church.

          The family will be at the funeral home in Pocola on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Thomas Hiram Glenn


         Thomas Hiram Glenn, 71, of Talihina, OK passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Thomas was born March 9, 1947, in Poteau, OK to John Edward & Anna Mae (Howery) Glenn. He was an educator.  Thomas was a veteran of the US Air Force.  He was preceded in death by his parents & brothers, Air Force Master Sgt.-Retired – John Edward Glenn Jr, & Air Force Lt. Col.-Retired-Warren Henry Glenn.

          Survivors include his sister, Margaret Vandever of Tulsa, OK; brother & sisters in law, Jim & Gaye Glenn of Van Buren, AR; sisters in law, Bobbie Glenn of Poteau & Brita Glenn of Colorado Springs, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 11 am, Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Phil McGehee officiating.  Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Howe, OK.

Britton Powers Long

 

Britton Powers Long, 29, of  Cameron, OK  passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 in Poteau, OK.  Britton was born January 12, 1989 in Oklahoma City, OK to Tracy and Julie Long. He was preceded in death by Father Tracy Ward Long; Grandparents Dare Ward and Betty Long; Uncles Billy Powers, Tom Shoup, and Tom Long.

Britton was a loving father and wildly free spirit who loved every day to the fullest. He held a bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety from NSU. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.  

He is survived by the two loves of his life Montoya Seymour and daughter Londyn Jayde Long; Sister Erin Long; Parents Julie and Mike Salgado; Grandparents Dewey and Marjorie Shoup, Gene and Jane Wood; and many other relatives, loved ones and friends.
