Jackson Winningham


          Jackson (KG) Winningham, infant son of Spencer & Sarah (Dickson) Winningham went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in Talihina, OK.  He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Janey Neal & Jeffery Owen Veerkamp;  great great grandparents, Gene & Willie Decker, Elaine & Raymond Gnomes, Dora Bernice Hankes, & Doyle Thornburg.

              Jackson is survived by his parents; sister, Jaslyn; grandparents, Kenneth & Christy Dickson of Poteau, OK, Mike & Robin Winningham of Greenwood, AR; great grandparents, Paul & Janice Dickson of Poteau, OK, Connie Veerkamp of Wister, OK, Carol & Glenn Winningham of Homedale, Idaho, Evone & Jack Decker of Fayetteville, AR, Mino George Karagines; great great grandmother, Stella Thornburg of Wister, OK; numerous aunts, uncle, cousins, other relatives and loved ones.

             Memorial services will be 5 pm, Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK.

Wynona Monks


    Wynona Monks, 78, of Shady Point, OK. passed away Thursday March 29, 2018 in her home.  Wynona was born July 19, 1939 in Milton, OK. to John & Ova (Weaver) Leflore. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands, Ralph Thomas Bell & Dave Monks Jr.; brothers, Jack & Paul Leflore; and sister, Alieen Aary; special daughter in law, Bobbie Bell.

      Survivors include her children, Ralph Wesley Bell and wife Debora, Thomas Wayne Bell, Michael David Bell, Theresa June Hall, & husband Rick; Grandchildren, Misty Bell, Zack Bell & wife Satara, Michael Bell & wife Brittany, Rachel Jeffery & husband Mike, Dustin Bell & wife Tasha, Britney Hambright & husband Jansen, Ashlynn Hammontree & husband Brad, Rikki Hall, Colten Hall; 20 great grandchildren; brother, Joe Weaver Leflore & wife Helen; sister, Marjorie Jane Leflore; sisters-in-law, Isma & Betty Leflore; other relatives, loved ones, and friends.

            Services will be held on Monday April 2, 2018 at 2:00pm at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK, with Hayden Bell & Ronald Miller officiating.  Pallbearers will be Wesley Bell, Wayne Bell, Mike Bell, Rick Hall, Zack Bell, Michael Bell, Dustin Bell, & Colten Hall. Interment will follow at Old Bokoshe Cemetery, Bokoshe, OK.

Norman Joe Berry



         Norman Joe Berry, 79, of Wister, OK passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in Wister.  Joe  was born February 21, 1939 in Oklahoma City, OK to Oscar Eual & Mary Ellen ( Goodrich) Berry.  He was a retired union electrician; a member of IBEW L.U. 584.  He lived in Wister where he owned and operated a cattle ranch for many years.  He enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles & classic trucks.  He was a gun enthusiast & a long time NRA member.  He loved to read; loved his family and his dogs.  He was a hard worker who dedicated his life to being a caring provider.   Joe was preceded in death by his parents; & brothers, Orville & Jr.

          Survivors include his son, Joe Wayne & Tracy Berry of Wister; daughter, Traci & Shell  Harmon of Sallisaw, OK; grandkids, Matt & Valerie Berry, Bobby & Crystal Shipman, Cortney & Brandon Smith, Morgan Berry; great grandkids, Beau Berry, Izzy Smith, Ryker Bates, Jasper Shipman, Kingsley Smith and Dylan Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 3 pm, Saturday, March 31, 2018, graveside at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow.  Pallbearers will be Bruce Kelly, Bobby Shipman, Matt Berry, Shell Harmon, Terry Covey and Brandon Smith.
              There is no scheduled family visitation.  Open visitation from 8 am - 8 pm Thursday & Friday until noon on Saturday.

Billy Hickman


Samuel William "Billy" Hickman Jr., 81, of Shady Point, OK passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Poteau.  Billy was born March 4, 1937, in Talihina, OK to Samuel & Mary (Green) Hickman.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary "Otema" Smelser & Donnie Lee James; brother, Archie Hickman.

Survivors include his sister & brother in law, Helen & Charles Haynes of Shady Point, OK; sister in law, Kay Hickman; brother in law, Gibson James of Heavener, OK; other relatives,  loved ones & friends.

Services will be 2 pm  Thursday, March 29, 2018, graveside at Talihina Cemetery, Talihina, OK .
