Lena Juanita Ward, 96, of Pocola, OK
passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in Pocola.
Lena was born June 4, 1916 in Pocola to
Roy & Liddy E. (Barlett) Kennedy.
She was a homemaker. Lena was a
charter member of the Christian
Grove Free
Will Baptist
Church in Pocola where
she was a member for 85 years, a charter member of the Pocola Senior Citizens,
a member of Eastern Star and White Shrine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Ward, 2
brothers & 2 sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Arley R. Ward of Tahlequah,
OK, James Ward of Pocola, OK; 4 grandchildren, Kelley Kerns and Arley Ward II of Tahlequah, OK, Shane
Ward of Winston-Salem, NC, Stephanie Shepherd of Mountainburg, AR; 5 great
grandchildren, Kash Kerns, Keeley Kerns, Karlie Kerns, Madison Shepherd and
Lindsey Shepherd; 2 sisters, Ruth Hobbs of Ft. Smith, AR, Henrietta Elmore of
Pocola, OK; other relatives, loved ones and many friends.
Services will be 2 pm, Friday, May 31, 2013 at Evans
Memorial Chapel, Pocola, OK with Rev. Jimmy Waldrop officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery,
Pocola. Pallbearers will be Buddy Pope,
Buddy Howard, Donnie Goins, Dennis Shepherd, Arley Ward II, Gerald Pipkins,
George A. Davis.
