Jean Reed, 81, of Poteau, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, November 17, 2008 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Jean was born on October 26, 1927 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Charles & Ethel (Manus) Stone. Jean was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church of Poteau and a homemaker. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Reed on October 9, 2000; a son, Michael on July 5, 2001; and her parents.
Jean is survived by 2 sons & daughter in law, Carl Don & Donna Reed of Oklahoma City, OK & David Reed of Jackson, MS; 2 daughters & sons in law, Mary & Dick Mortimer of Oceanside, CA & Linda Gayle & Gary Furr of Poteau, OK; 10 grandchildren, Stephen Pate, Shauna Atchley, Charity Dressler, Gary Wayne Furr, Audra Langston, Christy Gray, Brian Furr, Tony Reed, Kevin Reed, & Mary Neely; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Lewis of Carmichael, CA, 2 daughters in law, Janet Reed of Fort Smith, AR & Suzanna Reed of Marietta, OK; numerous other relatives & loved ones; and many beloved friends & church family.
Funeral services for Jean were held at 9:00 am, Friday, November 21, 2008 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, OK with the Reverend Bobby Minick officiating. Interment followed the services at 11:00 am Friday November 21, 2008 at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR with arrangements under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK. Pallbearers were Stephen Pate, Gary Wayne Furr, Brian Furr, Tony Reed, Kevin Reed, & Mike Robinson. Honorary pallbearer was Bill Dorey.
