Troy Francis Pyland

Troy Francis Pyland, 90, of Claremore, OK (formerly of Poteau) passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Claremore, OK. Troy was born in Whitesboro, OK TO Edward & Ruby (Brewer) Pyland on November 28, 1918. Troy worked for the Oklahoma Highway Dept. as construction superintendent. He served in World War II with the US Army. Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Edward Holt of Grand Prairie, TX; son & daughter-in-law, Victor & Freda Pyland of Muskogee, OK & Todd Pyland of Tulsa, OK; 2 sisters, Helen Stewart of Texas and Joyce Boss; Stepchildren, Kathy Tolbert, Paula Woods, Bunnie Nichols, Clarence “Rookey” Hayes, & Paul Hayes; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services will be Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, OK with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, OK.
