Luther Wayne Helton, 62, of Poteau, OK passed away in Poteau on Friday, May 1, 2009. Wayne was born August 17, 1946 in Tulare CA. to Luther Paul & Vera (Huggins) Helton. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War; a maintenance welder and mechanic. He is survived by his mother, Vera Helton of Poteau, OK; 2 daughters, Lori Diaz of Omaha, NE & Tonya Andrews of Modesto, CA; brothers, Bill Helton of Claremore, OK and James Helton of Tyler, TX, sisters, Kay Romine of Van Buren,AR & Cleo "Cookie" Crawford of Caddo, OK; 9 Grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services: 2 pm, Monday, May 4, 2009 at Southside Baptist Church in Poteau, OK with the Rev. Monty Thompson officiating. Interment following in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.
