Modean B. Smith

Modean B. Smith of Woodward, OK passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 in Woodward. She was born January 19, 1922 in Wister, OK to Emmett E. & Jane (Wilson) Duncan. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Poteau, OK. She was preceded in death by her Hershel (Bolivar) Smith and her parents; in laws, Mabra & Zelma Smith & 2 brothers, Bedford Duncan and Hoyt Duncan. She was active in the church in Poteau; an active volunteer, talented seamstress and dabbled in many other hobbies. Survivors include her daughters, Judy Evans & husband, Clayton of Woodward, OK, Janna Kiser & husband, George of Broken Arrow, OK; brother, Harold Duncan of Poteau, OK; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services will be 10 am, Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Poteau, OK with Rev. Greg Tener officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.

'Momma-Dean' will always have a soft spot in my heart. Mom and Dad treasured their times with Modean and Bolivar. They were quite a foursome.
