Kenneth James Hughie, 73, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 in Poteau. Kenneth was born in Brenham, TX on March 28, 1936 to Thomas & Betty (Clister) Hughie. Kenneth was a general laborer. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Michael Keith Hughie & Buddy James Hughie; brother, Thomas Hughie & his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris Hughie of the home; daughters & son in law, Julie Hicks of Poteau, OK, Jenny & Greg Claiborn of Belton, TX; grandsons, Dennis Hicks Jr. of Poteau, OK, Sister & brother in law, Betty & George Dawson of Oregon; brothers & sister in law, Floyd & Ellna Hughie of Indianapolis, IN & Rod Hughie of Poteau, OK; 3 great grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services were held 10 am, Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Poteau Valley Baptist Church in Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Parsley officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. Pallbearers were Dennis Hicks Jr., Greg Claiborn, George Martin, George Martin Jr., and Nick Moore. Evans & Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, OK.
