Clark Vernon Nowlin

 

Clark Vernon Nowlin, 83, of Wister, OK passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in Oklahoma City.  Clark was born November 13, 1938 in Poteau, OK to Vernon & Retha Oleata (Sisk) Nowlin.  Anna wrote, “Not many people really KNEW my dad.  He was such a quiet, unassuming man.  But, if you were lucky enough to really know him you know that he was one of a kind.  He lived his 83 years to the fullest; from hiking the Grand Canyon; Mount Ranier; skiing down mountains as fast as he could; rafting on the Colorado River; traveling to many countries with his wife, Pama; and many more adventures I can’t even list.  He didn’t let age slow him down.  There was always more work to be done and more places to see.  He was honestly the best man I could have been blessed with to call my Daddy.  And, if you knew him, you know he never had an unkind word about anyone.  I learned so much from my dad,  but the biggest lesson I learned is to always see the good in everything and to live every day to its fullest.  He loved his family and showed his loved by his actions.  Like the true cowboy he was, he was a man of few words, however,  when he did say something, it was something to hold on to.  He was truly the best cowboy a girl could ever love.  Cowboys never say goodbye, they say, ‘see ya later’.”  He was preceded in death by first wife, Suzanne Singleterry Nowlin.

 

Survivors include his wife, Pama;  daughter, Anna Nowlin Wiles; sons, Robert Nowlin, Jim Nowlin, Damon Henley and Derek Henley; sister, Bobbie Jo Dodd; brother, Jimmie David Nowlin; grandchildren, Lindsey Nowlin Hastings, Zach Nowlin, Taylor Nowlin, Noah Nowlin Wiles, Samuel Wiles, Cord Conner Henley, Dax Conner Henley, Lakin Henley, Bailey Henley, Aryel Henley; great grandchildren, Craigan Hastings, Logan Hastings, Quinnlyn Hastings, Paityn Nowlin, Kaisley Nowlin, Lilah Nowlin, Ryleigh Nowlin, Adrian Henley, Keano Henley, Braxton Henley; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 

Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Summerfield Cemetery Pavilion, Summerfield, OK with Charles Caughern officiating.   Pallbearers will be Robert Nowlin, Jimmie Nowlin, Damon Henley, Derek Henley, Jay Wiles, Richard Schwake.  Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Duncan, Dylan Grey, Kenny Matlock, Chris Piovesan, Taylor Nowlin and Zach Nowlin.

 

Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
