Doris Barnes

 

Doris Laverne Barnes, 85, of Okmulgee, OK passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 in Tulsa, OK.  Doris was born August 22, 1936 in Redlands, CA to Henry & Effie (Garren) Buckner.  She was a registered nurse.  She was a devout Christian all her life.  She was a good wife, mother and grandma.  Doris was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Gene Barnes on 12/30/2013; sons, John & Brian; her parents.

 Survivors include three of her five children, Steven, Jack & James; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 Graveside services – 10 am, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Coaldale Cemetery, Coaldale, AR.

Larry C. Harmon


Larry Calvin Harmon, 76, of Wister, OK passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 in Fayetteville, AR.  Larry was born February 22, 1945 in Wister, OK to James Calvin & Olga Murl (Shrader) Harmon.  He worked in the coal mine and for the railroad.  He was a veteran of the US Army.   Larry  was preceded in death by an infant brother, Wallace Berry & nephew, Randy Seaborn.

 Survivors include his brothers & sisters in law, Louie & Vicky Harmon of Davis, OK, Clinton Harmon, Jerry & Joyce Harmon of Wister, Kyle Harmon of Summerfield, OK; sisters & brothers in law, Carolyn & Bill Brown of Tulsa, OK, Joy & Butch Chaplin of Wister, OK, Lana & Kenny Mattox of Poteau, OK; nieces & nephews, Kim Harmon Gayanich, Shell Harmon, Angie Staggs, Tracey Seaborn, Fred Harmon, Jason Harmon, Jenny Chitwood, Nikki Garrett, Jimmy Chaplin, Jana Kinder, Julie Kluender, Jerod Hicks; especially close great nephews, Ethan, Elijah and Sawyer Chitwood; other great nieces and nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 Services will be 10 am, Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church, Wister with Rev. Josh Effinger officiating.   Burial will follow at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister.  Pallbearers will be Gary Claiborn, Jack Frost, Bud Morgan, Mark Rogers, Lanny Akers, Steve Woodall.  The family will visit with relatives and friends on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Patrick Steichen Whaley


Patrick Ryan Steichen Whaley, age 39, died August 6, 2021 in Red Oak, OK.  He was born September 10, 1981 in Minneapolis, MN to Robin Steichen & Darrell Whaley.  Patrick is survived by his parents; brothers, Jason (Krystal) Whaley, and Nicholas Steichen; cousin, Shada Steichen; nephews, Christopher, Caleb, Tatum & Tavin; nieces, Pashense, Trynadie, Chabraya, and Tinley; several cousins, aunts and uncles and friends.  He was preceded in death by cousins, Anthony & Brian; Aunt Lori; and his grandparents.

 Patrick was a 2000 graduate of LeFlore High School.  He attended CASC, studying pre-law, and received EMT certification.  He worked as an EMT in LeFlore, Latimer, and Haskell counties for 15 years, had a mechanic business, and was a volunteer rural fireman.  Patrick was a member of Salonia Free Will Baptist Church.  Pat was “the guy who could build or fix anything”, an all-around mechanic, carpenter, techie; a real McGyver.

 Services will be private.  Patrick’s family asks that you plant a tree in his memory.
