Ray Terry Jr.

  
         Ray Newton Terry, Jr,  61, of Richmond, TX passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Richmond.  Ray was born January 25, 1959 in Poteau, OK to  Ray Newton Sr. & Joyce Pugh Terry.  Ray & Gena met at work in February 2000.  They began dating in March 2003 and were married in April 2004.  The first child, Grant Thomas AKA “Little Buddy”, was born in May 2006 and then Grayson Ray AKA “Little Bubba” was born in January 2008.   In the last three years, Ray became heavily involved  in Boy Scouts with the boys and had been to several summer camps, campouts, and has even become involved at the District level becoming the Training Chair.  He made friends very easily.  Ray is loved by hundreds of people from work, Boy Scouts, friends in the neighborhood as well as at church.  Church was a priority to him as he taught his boys Christian values and how to be Godly men.

          Ray loved his family!  His wife and boys were everything to him.  He loved to spend time watching football games on the couch and putting out flags for scouts with the boys as well as date nights with Gena.  His hobbies included working on his old cars.  He loved going to car shows as well as working on his own antiques in the garage.  We love you Dad!  You will be greatly missed!  Ray was preceded in death by his father & brother, Tony.

          Survivors include his wife Gena Strader Terry; sons Grant Thomas Terry & Grayson Ray Terry; his mother, Joyce Riddle; brothers, David & Mike; nieces and nephews,  Michael Shane Terry, Jordan Terry,  Jaclyn Terry Taylor, Jessica Terry Mooneyham,  Chloe Terry, Candace Terry, Cassidy Terry Hunter & Cole Young, Haley & Ashlyn Meeks,  Whitney Terry, Tory Terry, Tony Terry Jr., Chad Arnold, Tony, Megan & Makala; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Evans Chapel, Poteau.  The family will be at the funeral home from 1 until service time to visit with friends.  Burial will follow at Monroe cemetery.  Pallbearers will be David, Tory, Shane, Mike & Jordan Terry & Dustin Taylor.

Jason Cheely

           Jason Christopher Cheely, 42, of Ft. Smith passed from this life on December 26, 2020.  He was born August 17, 1978 at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX to Charles & Patricia (Goetz) Cheely.  Jason worked at ABB (Baldor) where he was still employed.  To all that knew him he was a huge Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packer Fan by his sports card collection; even got to attend several professional games in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Denver.  Jason was active in the Boy Scouts reaching the Rank of Eagle Scout.  Also, he was a member of the Northside ROTC program becoming a company commander.  With his dual role in Boy Scouts and ROTC he joined in the fun setting up the Boy Scouts Halloween Spook jamboree at “Y” City camp thru his high school years.  He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandparents Charles C. & Rosie (Painter) Cheely, Grandpa Charles R Cheely, Great-Grandparents Elroy C. and Alice A Woll and Betty A Goetz from Milwaukee, WI.

          Jason is survived by his parents; Grandma Donnie Cheely of Poteau; uncles/aunts Bennie (wife) Nancy Cheely of Spiro; Richard (wife) Tonya of Calhoun; Jimmy (wife) Brenda of Panama; Janice Harrison (companion) Richard of Poteau; Catherin Glick of Denver, CO; Randy Glick of Houston, TX; numerous cousins; and his best friend Grady (wife) Melissa Breazzeal of Ft Smith.

          Services will be 2 pm – Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Evans Chapel, Poteau with final resting place in Shady Point Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bennie, Bennie Jr, Richard, Dusty & Jimmy Cheely, Grady Breazzeal.  Honorary will be Avery Glick of Denver Co and Jennifer Glick of Dallas, TX.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

          Our deepest thank you to the doctors and nurses at Mercy ICU who gave their dedication, love and support to our son Jason while battling Covid-19.  It’s a real disease; please show your support for those who are battling this virus and to the medical staff that puts in endless hours in taking care of those in need;  Please love one another by wearing your mask!

Lawrence A. Garcia


 Lawrence Anthony "Lorenzo" Garcia, 34, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020  in Poteau.  Lawrence was born July 16, 1986 in Silver City, NM to Pete De  La O & Teresa Garcia.  Lawrence was a great son, brother, and father.  He was a hard worker and had the biggest heart.  He would give you the shirt off his back if it was all he had to help anyone with.  He loved his family with all his heart.  He loved spending time with his son.  He was a great friend to many and will be missed greatly.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Juan Garcia, Demesia Garcia, Phillip De La O and wife, Marlene Moss-Garcia.

 Survivors include his parents, Teresa & Pete; son, Jaxon Garcia; sister, Anna De La O; brothers, Mike & Eric De La O; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday, December 26, from 4-6 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Donald Hadden

 

Donald Lee Hadden, 85, of Pocola, OK passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Van Buren, AR.  Donald was born February 24, 1935 in Detroit, MI to Alfred Lee & Ruth Ida (Kritzburg) Hadden.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean and brother Jerry Hadden.

 Survivors include his son, Lee Hadden; daughter & son in law, Becky Freitas & Pete; 5 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren; brother Gorden Hadden; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 Graveside memorial services will be held at 3 pm, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Ft. Smith National Cemetery, Ft. Smith, AR.

         

Eric Scott Bobst

 

Eric Scott Bobst, 30, of Little Rock, AR passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Pocola, OK.  Eric was born June 24, 1990 in Mena, AR to John & Sue (Sheffield) Bobst. He was a veteran of the US Marines.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John Bobst & Sue Fearn; grandfather, Preston Sheffield and cousin, Nathan Sheffield.

 Survivors include his son, Garrett Bobst of Pocola, OK; daughter, Kayzlynn Bobst of Sapulpa, OK; brothers, Michael  Bobst, Rick & Liz Bobst; sisters, Karen & Jay Hill, Jennifer & Cody Coleman, Roxanne & Bobby Cox; grandmother, Allie Sheffield; uncle, David & Theresa Sheffield; cousin, Cristy Connor; numerous nieces and nephews; stepfather, Kevin Fearn; stepsister & brother, Jared & Kim Patterson, Dakota Fearn.

 Services will be 10 am, Monday, December 28, 2020 at Evans Memorial Chapel, Pocola, OK with Kevin Thompson officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Coleman, Bobby Cox, Rick Bobst, Jacob Bennet, Jake Morton, Michael Bobst, and his Brothers in Arms.Interment will follow at Noon at Fort Smith National Cemetery

         

Grace Chronister


Grace Marie Chronister, 81, of Wister, OK passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at her home.  Grace was born April 16, 1939 in Santa Barbara, CA to Jerry Pascall & Juanita Deleguerra (Davis) Grand.  She was a culinary specialist and worked at the Kerr Conference Center.  Grace was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother.  She always doted about her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.   When not spoiling her grandchildren, she devoted her time to crocheting and baking.  She was extremely devoted to her husband Ray; she absolutely adored him.  They were the perfect couple, always kidding each other.  Grace also treasured her daughters, Gena, Susie and Donna.  She was always proud of their accomplishments.  Grace will be greatly missed, but she now is in heaven with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  She was preceded in death by her loving and faithful husband, Denver Ray Chronister; 4 great grandchildren, Hayden Michael, Kollin Ray, Kinnick Charles, and Kaitlynn Grace Knudsen; and two brothers, Lawrence Grand Sr. and Robert Davis; one sister, Mary Matter.

Survivors include her daughters Gena Drake & husband Randy of Santa Maria, CA, Susanna “Susie” Nurick and husband John, their five children Elizabeth Knudsen & her husband Joel, Abigail Emberlin, Stephen Nurick, Christopher Nurick and Philip Nurick of Yukon, OK, Donna Gage and husband George, their two children Jonathan Gage & Drew Gage of Wister, OK; brothers, Richard Grand, James Davis, Don Anderson; sisters, Patricia Davis, Gladys Jean Davis, Kathy Davis-Sweet; the entire Chronister Family, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Grace was also a Great Grandmother to Karson and Kye Knudsen and Raylan Emberlin.

 Graveside Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at San Bois Cemetery, Kinta, OK with Bruce Smith officiating.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Richard A. Buchfink

 

Richard Allen Buchfink, Sr., 75, of Howe, OK passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at his home.  Richard was born May 12, 1945 in Claremore, OK to John & Lenora (Hildebrand) Buchfink.  He was a veteran of the US Army 1963-1966,  He was owner of AirTec Systems and a member of Masonic Lodge 154.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ted, Marvin & Harry; sisters Betty Clow & Norma Sappington.

          Survivors include his wife, Carol Chapin Buchfink of the home; daughters, Shanna Buchfink Carlson and Denise Jacob both of Tulsa, OK; son, Richard Buchfink Jr. of Weatherford, TX; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers  Danny, Charlie, John, & Dale Buchfink; sister, Helen Hamblin all of Oolagah, OK; sister in law, Annaelle Buchfink of Catoosa, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Jason McGee

 

        Erik “Jason”  McGee, 47, of Cameron, OK passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at his home.  Erik was born April 12, 1973 in Tulsa, OK to Claudie Denver & Linda Kay (Beck) McGee.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Loyd and grandmother, Nettie McGee.

          Survivors include his wife, Melissa (White) McGee of the home; daughter Kacey McGee of Cameron, OK; sons, Kaleb & Kolby McGee; grandson, Kourt McGee all of Cameron, OK; his father, Denver; stepfather, Stanley Loyd of Summerfield, OK; sister, Regina Cummings; brother Eugene Loyd; Mother and Father-in-law Richard and Susie White; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at First Assembly of God, Shady Point, OK with Joe Owen & Richard Ferguson officiating.

Harrell Bright

    


       Harrell Gene Bright, 84, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Tulsa, OK.  Harrell was born August 30, 1936 in Poteau to Cecil & Edna (Pickle) Bright. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Poteau.  Harrell’s accomplishments are many.  He was principal at Poteau High School before going to Carl Albert Junior College at Dept. Head for two divisions, Social & Behavioral Sciences as well as Communications & Fine Arts retiring from there in 1993.  He taught graduate level economics at Southeastern State University for three summers.   He was a member and board chairman of the LeFlore County Equalization & Excise Board Harrell was Poteau Man of the Year in 1987 & received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.  He was a Paul Harris Fellow in Poteau Rotary Club. He retired as Fire Chief of Poteau Fire Dept. (1960-94).  He was a graduate of National Fire Academy in 7 areas; instructed Fire Service Training at OSU for 20 years, also serving on the State Fire Marshall Commission and serving on every committee in State Fire Fighters Assoc.   Harrell was a past Mayor of the City of Poteau, a member of the PHS Athletic Hall of Fame in basketball.  He and Wayne Plummer were partners in Plummer-Bright Ins. for 23 years.  Harrell had a passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing (evidenced by many trophies in his home) and gardening (giving away tons of vegetables over the years). He was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Weatherford.

          Survivors include his son, Jeffrey G. Bright & granddaughter, Jaclyn Bright of Broken Arrow, OK; niece Sherrie & Mike Hulse & family all of Tulsa, OK; niece Shelly Weatherford of Overland Park, KS; other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.

          Private family services were held.     Pallbearers – Bob Carter, Rick Couri, Jon Pickel, Bill Hoffman, Gene Wheat.  Honorary pallbearers – Max Rowley, Bob Lindstrom, Bert Corr, Ed Abernathy, Wayne Plummer, Kelly Hughes.

Linda Kay Miesner

   


     Linda Kay Miesner, 72, of Panama, OK passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at her home.  Linda was born June 12, 1948 in Bokoshe, OK to Ollie & Bertha (Sutton) McCage.  She was a beautician for many years.  She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Panama.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hank Miesner, grandson Chase, brother Coye McCage, sisters Hazel Skelton, Wilma Battles and Deloris Ritter.

          Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey & April Miesner of Greenwood, AR, Bruce & Penny Miesner of Panama, OK; granddaughter, Staley Jane; sisters, Wanda Brown of Hot Springs, AR, Helen Parker of Ft. Smith, AR, Jackie Dampier of Charleston, AR; special niece, Judy Bourne of Panama, OK; numerous other nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.

Patricia Darlene Trout, 72, of Panama, OK passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at her home.  Patricia was born April 7, 1948 to Harrison Joseph & Vernie Katherine (Tucker) Pierce.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Billy Harrison Featherston; brothers, Bobby Joe & Leland Pierce and sister, Shirley Moore.
