Ella Mae Childress


            Ella Mae Childress, 70, of Ft. Smith, AR passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in Ft. Smith.  Ella was born April 1, 1950 in Ft. Smith to Clyde Elwood & Alma Faye (Ferguson) Ousley.  She worked in the office at Hickory Springs. 

          Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Hargrove of Rock Island, OK; grandchild, Kylie Duvall of Bonanza, AR; sisters, Neta McCarson of Pocola, OK, Loretta Angel of Virginia; brother, Carl David Ousley of Pocola, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Kathleen Himes


            Kathleen Oleta Himes, 86, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020 in Van Buren, AR.  Kathleen was born June 29, 1933 to Doc & Vossie (Crenshaw) Goins.  She was a pharmacy tech.  Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Himes; 4 brothers & 6 sisters.
          Survivors include her companion, Jack O’Donnell of Poteau; sons, Steve Slusser & Kristen of Heavener, OK, Gordon Slusser & Sue of Marana, AZ; daughters, Paula Morales & Eddie of San Antonio, TX, Sandra O’Brien of Poteau, OK; 11 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          Services - 1 pm – Friday, May 1, 2020 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion.
Pallbearers - Geoff Slusser, Nathaniel, Chad, Brannon & Greg Stumpf.            

KAREN MONEY


Karen Lee Money, 67, of  Sallisaw, OK  passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020  in Fayetteville, AR.  She  was born December 5, 1952 in Sallisaw, OK to Arthur Y and Lela Mae (Jackson) Blackburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Blackburn, and infant sister Anna Marie Blackburn.
Karen taught school for 38 years starting at Belfonte, she then taught at Brushy, Marble City, and Greasy before retiring. She loved teaching and always looked forward to the new school year. Karen was a strong Christian who served the Lord in children's ministry and was a member of the Hanson Baptist Church in Sallisaw for over 20 years. Most recently attended Temple Baptist Church in Springdale, AR and First Baptist Church in Bentonville, AR. She enjoyed baking, reading, sewing, and bowling. Above everything Karen loved her daughters and granddaughters.
Karen is survived by her daughters Terra Parker and husband Brandon of Bentonville, AR, and Laura Money of Springdale, AR; Granddaughters Ava Parker, Lyla Parker, Elise Parker, Violet Parker, and Kaia Money; Sister Betty McCaslin and husband Dan of Shady Point; Brothers Richard Blackburn and wife Evelyn, George Blackburn and wife Marty all of Sallisaw;  numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Funeral Services were 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, OK with Phil McGehee officiating with interment to follow.

Betty Cox


Betty Janette Cox, 61, of Shady Point, OK went to be with her Lord, Friday, April 24, 2020 in Shady Point.  Betty was born July 9, 1958 to Charles & Florence (Jeffries) Crossno.  Betty was fond of cats especially her pet snowball.  She loved to raise and care for her chickens. She was a special person loved by her friends and church family.  Betty was always  smiling and had a fun sense of humor.  She was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy Jeffries and Charles E. Crossno, Jr; sisters, Susan Blount and Donna Emmert as well as her parents.
          Survivors include her husband Timmy Lee of the home; two brothers, Sammy Jeffries and wife Twaina, Robert Jeffries all of Ft. Smith, AR; two sisters, Martha Kilfoyle and husband Ron of Van Buren and Doris Carter and husband Dustin of Muldrow, OK.

Twalla Robison


   Twalla L. Robison, 90, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in Heavener, OK.  Twalla was born July 2, 1929 in Lindsay, OK to David Henry Haskell & Mary Nora (Qualls) Worley.  She was a member of Faith Miracle Tabernacle. Twalla retired three times in her lifetime from Sears in Tulsa, EOMC in Poteau, and KiBois.  She was a very dedicated grandma.  She loved cooking and sewing, quilting and taking care of people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave & Rosa Worley, Mae & Joe Randolph;  husband, George; son, David Edward “Eddie” Robison; brother, Dean Worley; sisters, Kate Grigsby & Sada Sole and granddaughter, Jeannie Noah Potter.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Dean Robison & wife Darlene of Branson, MO; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren & 20 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services were 2 pm, Sunday at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, OK with Jim Cook officiating.
