Patricia Ammons



Patricia B. Ammons, 86, of Panama, OK passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Patricia was born January 13, 1931 in Spiro, OK to Woodrow A. & Golda (Kerr) Moore.  She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Survivors include her husband Jerry of the home; son & daughter in law, Ronald D. & Teresa Eatmon of Panama, OK; sisters, Rosalee & Chuck Cottrill of Bay City, CA, Regena & Johnny Brown of Panama, OK; adopted daughter, Teresa Grafton & companion Cody Hill of Poteau; granddaughter, Brittany Patterson; grandson, Dixon Eugene Eatmon; special friend & sister in law, Dorothy Gibson of Tioga, LA, Rose Rogers of Panama;  numerous grand & great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Monday, May 1, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, OK. 

The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5-7 pm to visit with relatives & friends.



  

Riley Smith



 Walter "Riley" Smith, 91, of Poteau, OK passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 in Poteau.  Riley was born December 13, 1925 in McAlester, OK to Riley Henson & Bella Mae (Evans) Smith.   Riley joined the Navy at the age of 17.  He served as Radar Man on landing craft in the South Pacific until the end of WWII.   Riley was the owner of the Ford Mercury Dealership in Poteau for almost 40 years. He was past president of the Oklahoma Automobile Dealers Assoc.; past president of the Rotary Club; Elder Emeritus of the First Christian Church in Poteau; a Member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shriners for over 50 years.  He  was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy Smith; his first wife, Modena (Leard).



 Survivors include his wife, Carol (Windham) Smith of the home; daughters, Melinda Beets & husband Tommy of Oklahoma City, OK, Melissa Massey  & husband Wade of Princeton, TX; Marybeth Patterson of Siloam Springs, AR; sons, Wynn Alexander & wife Mary of Wilmington, OH, David Alexander & wife Kaye of Poteau, OK; grandchildren, Robert &  wife Misty Mead, Scott & Kevin Massey, Taylor & Joe Alexander, Shelah & Millie Cooper, Kacey & husband Josh Cousins, Blake & wife Ashley Alexander ; great grandchildren, Shay & Christian Scott, Hailey Mead, Addison Mead, Karsynn Cousins, Jet Thompson; sister, Jeanne Broome of Tucson, AZ

Services will be 10 am Tuesday, May 2, 2017  at the First Christian Church, Poteau with Rev. Gary Vancil officiating. 
The family will be at the funeral home on  Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Cherrie Rogers



Cherrie Lynn Rogers, 56, of  Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Cherrie was born May 2, 1960 in Lancaster, CA to Bobby & Kathy (Hicks) Robinson.  She was a PCA-CNA.   She  was preceded in death by her grandson, Gage Pilkington; son, Lonnie Hargett.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Newberry of Poteau, OK; children, Kaisha Maclachlan of Arlington, TX, Shane Hargett of  Quartz Hill CA, Shiloh Rogers of Poteau, Kerri Castillo, Tyler, TX, Patrick Hargett; 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; sister, Dan-yelle Qualls of Poteau; brothers, Kevin Robinson of McMenville, OR, Garland Robinson of Palm Dale, CA; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 pm

Don Benton Hoyt



Don Benton Hoyt, 28, of  Poteau  passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 near Spiro, OK.  Don was born June 29, 1988 in Temecula, CA to Larry & Dianna (Downing) Hoyt.  He was a mechanic. He was preceded in death by  his father, Larry Hoyt ; his grandfather, Jack Hoyt both of Brooklyn, NY and  his fiance Chelsey Hargrove.

Survivors include his children, Chloe Hudson and Baron Hoyt of Ft. Smith, AR; his siblings, Brooke Hoyt of  OK,  Becky Ann Hoyt of Ft. Smith, AR, Pretty Hoyt and Jasmine Wood of  CA, Max Hoyt;  Aunt, Elyse Hoyt  of  CA; nieces, Lexi Hoyt and Alyssa Hargrove; nephews, Joseph Bradshaw, Christian Bradshaw and Alex Sears; grandmothers, Ellen Hoyt of Brooklyn, NY, Shirley Downing of  TN; grandfather, Gary Downing of  CA; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, April 26, 2017  graveside at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Greenwood, AR.  The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from  6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
