Joseph Daniel Thornburg,
81, of Fanshawe, OK passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 in
Fanshawe. Joseph was born December 25,
1931 in Hughes, OK to Lester G. “LG” & Dora Viola (Rash) Thornburg. He was a truck driver. Joe was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents;
daughter, Karen Jo Lambert; 2 grandsons, Clayton Garrett, Greg Lambert; 3
sisters, Wilma Perry, Ruth Baker, Mable Thornburg; 1 brother, George Thornburg.
Survivors include his
daughter, Katheryn Jane Garrett of Gilmore, OK; 5 grandchildren, Rob Lambert of
AR, Kara & Bud Hammons of Wister, OK, Colby, Jarrod & John Garrett of
Gilmore, OK; 12 great grandchildren, Whitney & Rebecca Lambert, Josie,
Tucker, Wesley, Bo, Sydney & Sam Garrett, Jesse, Will, Kate & Joe
Hammons; 2 brothers, Ezra Thornburg of
Wister, OK, Paul Thornburg of Ashdown, AR; 5 sisters, Ester Richie and Maggie
Jozens of CA, Zillah McFerran & Bertha Baker of AR, Martha Galbraith of OK;
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved
friends.
Services will be 10 am,
Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK
with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
Interment will follow in Hicks Chapel Cemetery,
Fanshawe, OK. Pallbearers will be Rob Lambert, Colby, John
& Jarrod Garrett, Jason Earl Thornburg, Jesse & Bud Hammons.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives and
friends.
