David Childress



David Louis Childress,  73,  of Monroe, OK passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 in Monroe.  David was born March 14, 1940 in Cedars, OK to Lewis & Ollie (Poole) Childress.  He was a truck driver.  David was a veteran of the US Army Reserves.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel,  1 sister & 1 brother.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Sue of the home; daughters & sons in law, Lynnette & Benny Williams of Monroe, OK, Jo & David Runyon of Alpine, AZ; son & daughter in law, Danny & June Dye of Monroe, OK; special niece & nephew, Reba Francis and Keith Childress; 7 grandchildren, Mary Morton, Dustin Smith, Christine Dye, Stuart Bennett, Glen Bennett, Kitty LeFebre, Michael Bennett; 2 step grandchildren, Ben Williams, Brittany Cameron; 12 great grandchildren; 6 sisters, Edith Jones, Patty Childress and Pam Ward of Pocola, OK, Carol Goins of Liberty, OK, Ruth Cantrell of Muldrow, OK, Judy Tolbert of Arkoma, OK; 5 brothers, Carl Albert “Tonkey” Childress, Junior Childress of Bonanza, AR, Eddie Childress of Pocola, Danny Childress of Roland, OK, Jerry Childress of Ft. Smith, AR; aunt, Mae Dimes of Ft. Smith, AR; uncle Porter Poole of Murry Spur, OK;  best friend, “Willie Dog”; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Springhill Baptist Church in Monroe, OK with Rev. Billy Parker and Rick Snyder officiating.  Interment will follow in Monroe Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Aaron, Jerrid & Greg Francis, Cody Reed, Keith Childress, Benny Williams.  Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Musgrove, George Urchison Jr.

The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4-6 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

It's always hard when someone has passed away. You are wanting you and your loved one to be taken care of while going through the hard time.

I will miss you till we meet again you where a life saver to me you were like my dad when mine had left me you always was there for me and now you are there with Bubba I love you both and miss you a lot
