Dorothy Vera
Roman Cooper, 90, of Poteau,
OK, passed away on Monday,
October 14, 2013. Dorothy was born May 2, 1923 in Wynoka, Oklahoma
to Wilbur Clyde Roman and Ruth Irene Mercer Roman. She graduated from Excelsior
High School in Cromwell, Oklahoma
in 1941. Dorothy married Cleo Cooper
May 18, 1941.
Cleo and
Dorothy were long time residents of Poteau,
Oklahoma where Cleo taught wood
shop and Dorothy served as administrative secretary to the Superintendent of
Poteau schools for many years. She was an
active long time member of the First Baptist Church,
Poteau, Oklahoma. Dorothy was preceded in
death by her husband Cleo, her father, mother , loving step mother and 2
brothers.
Dorothy is
survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Sharon Cooper of Santa Fe, New Mexico,
daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Calvin Ray of Houston,
Texas, and daughter Debbie Cooper of Henderson, Texas; 4 grandchildren and 8 great
grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services
will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 19 at First Baptist
Church, Poteau. with
Rev. Phil McGehee officiating. Interment
will follow in Vaughn Cemetery - Gilmore, OK. The family will be at the
fellowship hall from noon until service
time to visit with friends and enjoy refreshments.
