Stanley "Pop" Branch, 64, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in Ft. Smith, AR. Stanley was born July 29, 1945 in Stidham, OK to Henry & Mary (Edwards) Branch. He was a devoted Christian & a member of Broadway Church of Christ in Poteau. He was a loving husband, father. grandfather, brother, uncle, & friend. Stanley was know to many as "Pop". He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a machinist. He was preceded in death by son, Jeff Branch, granddaughter, Brittney Cox; his parents; brothers, Dewayne & Tim Branch; sisters, Betty Miller & Pamela Branch; & father in law, Fines Sturgeon.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Judy Sturgeon Branch of the home; 2 daughters & son in law, Tammy Cox of Poteau, OK, Melody & Johnny Wood of Poteau, OK; grandson, Cody Cox of Poteau, OK; granddaughters, Kyla Wood & Britleigh Wood of Poteau, OK; sister & brother in law, Janet & Jon Rorex of Durant, OK; brother & sister in law, Bob & Ranae Lane of Checotah, OK; special nephew & niece, Tim & Shaylee Branch of Edmond, OK; mother in law, Goldie Sturgeon of Poteau, OK; aunt, Nadine Funburg of Checotah, OK; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services were held 1 pm, Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, OK with Rev. Keith Williams & Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. Pallbearers were Cody Cox, Johnny Wood, Josh Rorex, Robert Randolph, Tyler Hemphill, Scotty White, Chris Howell, & Jamie DeLude. Honorary pallbearers were Nathan White, Tim Branch, Kafon Lane, Scotty Lane, Winston Lane, Daniel Lane, Skylar Lashley, Zack Hall & Zack Pritchett.
