Lee "Dickie" Vaughn, 74, of Wister, OK passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 in Poteau, OK. Dickie was born August 31, 1935 in Wichita Falls, TX to Lee & Pearl (Britton) Vaughn. He was a veteran of the US Air Corp serving in Korean Conflict 1951-1953; retired LeFlore County Employee, Retired Pastor of Mt. View Baptist Church where he served for 18 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, & beloved son, Mike Vaughn.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Phyllis Vaughn of the home; sons, David Adkisson & wife Toni of Oklahoma City, OK, Joel Adkisson & wife Candice, James Vaughn & wife Kellie of Tulsa, OK; daughters, Beverly Bain of Wister, OK, Becky Wise & husband Mike of Newalla, OK; 15 precious grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Bobbie Sewell of Santa Rosa, CA, Patsy Letwotsky & husband Tony of Santa Maria, CA; brother, Jack Vaughn & wife Florene of Elk City, OK; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, April 22, 2010 at Mt. View Baptist Church in Glendale, OK with Rev. Tim Trent & Rev. Charles Duvall officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Bain, Eldon Bain, Chris Vaughn, Sean Vaughn, Adrian Adkisson, Justin Adkisson, & Arthur Adkisson. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 Friday evening to visit with relatives & friends.
