Ruth Nadine Billings, 90 of Poteau, OK passed away on Monday, November 19, 2010 in Poteau. Ruth was born on October 6, 1919 in Wister, OK to Sidney & Ada (Tollison) Hardy. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church of Poteau, OK and a homemaker. Her first husband, James “JL” Billings, her second husband, Alton Billings; and her parents precede Ruth in death.
Ruth is survived by a son, Jimmy Billings of Wister, OK; 2 grandsons, Jeff Billings & Chris Billings both of Poteau, OK; a granddaughter Cynthia Billings of Fort Smith, AR; 2 great grandsons, Chris Billings of Wister, OK & Ryne Billings of Poteau, OK; 3 great granddaughters Courtney Billings of Leesburg, VA, Abbey Billings & Jessica Billings both of Poteau, OK; a stepdaughter Ruth Ann Ellis of Poteau, OK; 2 step grandsons Matt Ellis & Donnie Ellis both of Poteau, OK; 3 sisters & brothers in law Betty & John Newpher of Reading, PA; Yvonne & Raymond Bartlett of Tucson, AZ, & Henryetta & Frank Willson of WA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones & many beloved friends.
Graveside services for Ruth were held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion in Poteau, OK with the Reverend Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Interment followed the services with arrangements under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK.
