Margie Faye Potter Hancock & Cecil Hancock
Margie Faye (Potter) Hancock, 77, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 in Poteau. Margie was born January 30, 1933 in Cameron, OK to Samuel & Lonnie Ethel (Easton) Potter. She was a homemaker. Cecil Hancock, 89, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Talihina, OK. He was born in Poteau on February 11, 1921 to Arthur & Laura (Hale) Hancock. He served with the US Marine Corps. Margie & Cecil were preceded in death by their parents; a son, Samuel “Sammy” Hancock; a special son, John David Mize; a grandson, Jordan Wayne Hancock; her 10 siblings.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Deborah Stanley of Poteau, OK, Janet Davis of Heavener, OK; 4 sons, Cecil Hancock Jr. of Sallisaw, OK, Larry Hancock, Bryan Hancock, & Joe Hancock all of Poteau, OK; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; her sisters, Freda Huggins of Shady Point, OK & Loeta Corley of Coweta, OK; his sisters, Ronnie Cantrell & Arthina Christiansen; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be held 10 am, Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook & Rev. Leroy Billy officiating. Burial following in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. Pallbearers are Randy Duncan, Jimmy Burden, Howard Bandy, Jason Nichols, Hank Remy, Shane Mize, Russ Johnson, Gary Calhoun, & Steven Billy. Evans & Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, OK
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Wednesday evening to visit with relatives & friends.
