I had the pleasure of getting to know Jerry since he had returned to Poteau. Jerry was a great American and served his country proudly. We were traveling together once and talking about my military career and background, when I told him about my serving in "Operation Just Cause" he told me he knew someone from Panama (the Republic of) that I may be familiar with. He told me about how he had met Manuel Noriega, sure enough he later showed me a picture of him and Noriega together from his DEA days. Jerry was proof that just because you come from a small town in southeast Oklahoma doesn't mean that you are limited as to what you can accomplish. Jerry made quite an impression on me.

I remember Jerry from his Mom & Dad's Furniture store. I made frequent visits to the store as I lived in the neighborhood. Jerry was a wonderful person and was loved by all who knew him.
