Alford “Steve” Nichols, 60, of Poteau, OK passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009. Steve was born on November 21, 1948 in Albion, OK to Edward & Mozelle (Spicer) Nichols. Steve was an auto mechanic. He worked for Spider Webb for 20 years. He loved working on cars & helping everyone with their car problems. Steve was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Lester Hicks Marshall; & 2 brothers, Geary Marshall & James Marshall.
Steve is survived by his wife Alberta Nichols of the home; 2 sons & a daughter in law, Jason Nichols & Louis & Marina Nichols, all of Poteau; a granddaughter, Jasmine Nichols of Tulsa, OK; his mother, Mozelle Marshall of Poteau, OK; 5 brothers, Dewayne Nichols of California, Troy Nichols of Sperry, OK, Lester Marshall of North Carolina, Freddie Marshall of South Carolina, & Raymond Marshall of Alabama; numerous other relatives & loved ones and many beloved friends.
Memorial services for Steve were held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, OK with the Reverend Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Hancock, Jared Dewitt, James Dale McAlester, & Wade Burlew. Arrangements were under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK.

Mr. Nichols will be truly missed, by his friends, but God holds bigger plans for Steve.
