Robert Hamilton Morris Jr.
was born September 5, 1948 in Poteau Oklahoma to Anna Louise Morris and Robert
Hamilton Morris. They lived in Monroe, Oklahoma until Robert Jr. was age 4 when
they moved to Muskogee Oklahoma in 1952. He graduated from Muskogee High school
in 1966, where he was one of the school’s photographers. Robert went to NSU for two years, then into a
job with a mattress company. After the mattress company he got a job in 1970 in
the tower industry where he worked in differing capacities for multiple
companies throughout the rest of his life. When he finally left the tower
industry he held various odd jobs working in Mississippi, where he stayed until
he came to live with his mother in Poteau. He spent his last years there in the
house with her until she passed away. Robert fought against COPD for many years
until he finally succumbed on March 5th 2016. He was preceded in
death by his parents. He leaves behind one son, Jade Morris, one grandson, Jade
Morris Jr. one great granddaughter Rebecca Rose Morris and a host of aunts
uncles and cousins.
Services will be 11 am, Monday,
March 14, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Mark Morris
officiating. Interment will follow in
Monroe Cemetery, Monroe, OK.
