Carl Preston Mattox, 75, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday,
March 16, 2016 in Poteau. Carl was born August 22, 1940 in Howe, OK. to Carl Jefferson
"CJ" & Lawassa Lee (Boone) Mattox. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Carl was a supervisor in the oilfield and an entrepreneur. Carl
was a hard working man who loved life and touched too many people to
number. He loved to tell stories. Family meant everything to him and he loved
them all dearly. He was a great
man. Carl was preceded in death by his
parents.
Survivors include his wife,
Louise (Webster) Mattox of the home; his daughters, Ricki Campbell &
husband Phil of Shady Point, OK, Roxanne Akers & husband Don of Howe, OK,
Risẻ Place of Howe, OK, Leah Wilson & Dale of Howe, OK, Kasey Marsh &
husband Joey of Poteau, OK; son, Joe Bailey & wife Gayla of Wister, OK; 17
grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters,
Ione Place of Poteau, Pat & Johnny Hunt
of Howe, OK; brothers, Paul & Rita Mattox of Talihina, OK, Roger &
Barbara Mattox, Kenny & Lana Mattox, Dennis Mattox all of Poteau, OK; numerous nieces nephews, other relatives,
friends and loved ones.
Services will be 2 pm,
Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Nazarene
Church, Poteau, OK with Revs. Roger Mattox and Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in Howe Cemetery, Howe, OK.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
