Russell Wayne Whitson, 61,
of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 in
Poteau. Russell was born November 8,
1952 in Paden, OK to Thomas Allen & Aggie (Conner)
Whitson. He was the shop manager for
Ryder Trucks. Russell was preceded in
death by his parents; son, Phillip Bookout; wife, Betty Carringer Whitson;
brother, Thomas Eugene Whitson, granddaughter, Shauna R. Bookout.
Survivors include his sons,
Darrell Bookout of Altus, OK, Mark Bookout & wife Becky of Bessie, OK,
Phillip Bookout of Poteau, OK; daughters, Jill Thompson & husband Joseph,
Sheila Whitson and Zona Whitson all of Mexia, TX; sisters, Martha Geraldine
McAfee of Plano, TX, Patricia Gayle Stover, Paula June Lively, of Mangum, OK,
Claudia Whitson of Paden, OK, Sharon Henry of OK; brothers, Danny Conner
Whitson of Paden, OK, Ronald Whitson of Okemah, OK, Ralph Edward Whitson of AZ; 10 grandchildren; 5 great
grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be 11 am,
Friday, January 10, 2014 graveside at Monroe
Cemetery, Monroe, OK
with Father Valentine officiating.
