J.T.
Smith, 83, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 in
Poteau. J.T. was born in Sugar Loaf, OK
on January 31, 1929 to Finis & Hestor (McMillian) Smith. J.T. was a veteran of the US Army and served
in WWII. He was a truck driver. J.T. was preceded in death by his parents
& one brother, Thurell Smith.
Survivors
include his wife, Nina of the home; stepson, John Terry of Mojave, CA; 3 step
grandchildren, Rhonda Terry, Jenna Terry, & Justin Terry; numerous nieces,
nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services
will be 2 pm, Friday, December 14, 2012 in Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK
with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
Interment will be in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore,
OK.
The
family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit
with relatives and friends.

J.T. was a kind, loving, giving man. He was my 1st cousin, the only one I had left living. I did not get to visit him like I wanted to. We had good times together when we were young. RIP, and you will always be in my heart.
