Mary Jo Durant, 78, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in Poteau. Mary Jo was born November 13, 1931 in Gilmore, OK to William Albert Sr. & Rina L. (Griffith) Billy. She was a nurse & a seamstress. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; children, Robert Mitchell Crane & (twin) Rina Diane Najar; and siblings, James Billy, Tina Lou Billy & Robert Billy. Survivors include her husband Charles of the home; sons, Joe Durant of Tulsa, OK, Frank Crane of New York, Douglas Crane of Poteau, OK, Gabrial O. Durant of the home (adopted), Charles R. Durant; daughters, Rita Durant of Ft. Smith, AR, Monica Peter of North Carolina, Debbie K. Sharpie of Poteau, OK (adopted) Sherry Ross of Muldrow, OK (adopted); 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, William A. Billy Jr. of Panama, OK, Edmond Billy of Wister, OK, Herbert Billy of Texas, Tommy Billy of Shady Point, OK; sisters, Marion Nixon of Eufaula, OK, Margaret Warner of Meeker, OK, Shirley Thompson of Broken Bow, OK, Ellen Eikenberry of Eufaula, OK, Linda Covey of Lawton, OK, Patsy Dillard; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services will be held 2 pm, Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Evans Chapel of Memories with Rev. Leroy Billy officiating. Interment will follow in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, OK. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chuck Durant, Mike Stanley, Dustin Crane, Douglas Crane, Mitch Durant, Matt Durant, & Danny Billy. The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with friends & relatives.
