Joseph Horace Donathan, 89, of Fanshawe, OK passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 in Talihina, OK. Joseph was born December 23, 1920 in Kennedy, OK to Jerry Benjamin & Vera Alice (Keaster) Donathan. Joseph served in C.C. Camp; was a veteran of the US Navy/Seabees where he served for 2 years in the Pacific Theatre War, Guam & Okinawa. He worked in timber and construction and at the Naval Ammunition Depot. He was a retired Civil Service employee from Tinker Air Force Base for 25 years. Joseph was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Fanshawe, OK. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, & 1 grandson. Joseph graduated from Fanshawe High School in 1939. He married Audie Pauline Raines in 1941. He married Donna on April 30, 1974. Survivors include 4 sons & daughters in law, Larry Donathan & Goldie Fowler of Latham, OK, Neil & Pat Donathan of Shady Point, OK, Jerry & Barbara Donathan of McAlester, OK, Mike & Liza Donathan of Panama, OK; 1 daughter, Phyllis Brigance of Eufaula, OK; 12 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; 1 brother, Don Sanders of Washington State; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services will be held 2 pm, Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Free Will Baptist Church in Fanshawe, OK with Rev. Tracy Martin & Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Fanshawe Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony, Sammy, David, Joe, Carl & Chad Donathan. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Donathan, Steven Lee, Joseph Hunter Lee & Christian Donathan. The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
