Allen
Andrew Kersh, 95 of Shady Point, OK passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 in Pocola, OK. Allen was born June 14, 1919 in Cowlington, OK
to Rufus Hugh & Maude (Jones) Kersh.
He was a minister for over 50 years; as well as a carpenter, the Shady
Point Fire Chief, a share cropper and farmer.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Lorene on January 4, 2001; grandson, Shawn Kersh; great
grandson, Buddy Burleson; great granddaughter, Alesha Billy; 5 brothers and 3
sisters.
Survivors
include his children and their spouses, Rufus & Agnes Kersh of Poteau, OK,
Evalyn & Dolphis Fout, Bert & Frank Wiles, Jim & Diana Kersh all of
Shady Point, OK, Jean & Leon Garner
of Broken Arrow, OK, Dephna & Evert Stacy of Alma, AR, Howard & Patsy
Kersh of Rock Island, OK, Larry & Debra Kersh of Hugo, OK, Wayne &
Paulette Kersh of Monroe, OK; 22 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren; 40
great great grandchildren; a host of friends and other relatives.
Services
will be 10 am, Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Assembly of God Church in Shady Point, OK
with Revs. Joe Owen and Matt Stimic officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Point
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The
family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm to visit
with relatives & friends.
