Helen
Ione Branson Taylor, age 90, died peacefully in the home that she shared with
her son and daughter-in-law on November 27, 2014, in Shady Point,
Oklahoma. Mrs. Taylor was born Helen
Ione Branson on February 22, 1924 in Shady Point, to Wilburn and Eunice
Branson, the second of three children.
She graduated high school from Panama in 1942 and married in the
same year. Their marriage endured until his death in 1992. She and her husband lived in Shady Point,
moved to Tahona, where they continued to raise their cattle and their children,
and ran a business in Panama
for several years before moving back to Shady Point. While an active member in
the Baptist Church, Helen sewed, crocheted, played
the piano in church, and gave piano lessons.
Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered as an honorable woman
of integrity to all of her friends and family, as well as a dedicated
Christian.

Taylor is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joan and Robert Farmer of Tulsa, her son and
daughter-in-law Gary and Abigail Taylor of Shady Point, her brother and
sister-in-law Robert and Pat Branson of Poteau, also six grandchildren,
twenty-three great-grandchildren, and
two great-great-grandchildren. She is
preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard K. Taylor and her sister
Faye Davis of San Bernadino,
California.
Funeral services are scheduled for
10:00 on December 1 , 2014 at Evans
Miller Funeral Home in Poteau with Rev. Jim Roberts officiating. All
are welcome to attend. She will be laid
to rest in the Shady
Point Cemetery
next to her husband. A reception will follow at the Shady Point
Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be David McFarland, Lundy
Taylor, Vernon Scarberry, Mike Doyle, Daniel Taylor, Tex Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Devon, Taylor and Alex
McFarland, Isaac Belak, Bryan Forman and Bobby Marchant. Flowers and condolences can be sent to the
family in care of Evans Miller Funeral Home.
