Joyce Mirus



Joyce Mirus, 51, of Mulberry, AR passed away Sunday, December 01, 2013 in Alma, AR. Joyce was born March 26, 1962 in Oklahoma City, OK to Gerald & Cleo Ruth (Cravins) Wilson.  Joyce graduated from Poteau High School and spent most of her life there.  She worked at Gerber and also at Whirlpool for 25 years.  Joyce was preceded in death by her mother, Cleo; sister, Laura Wilson; grandparents, Howard & Bertha Wilson, Mattie Moore, and Otto Cravins.



Survivors include her husband, Darrell of the home; 3 sons, Corey  & wife Amber Morrow of Alma, AR, Marcus Mirus  and Jayce Mirus of the home; stepdaughter, Michelle Mirus of Ft. Smith, AR; stepson, James Mirus of Kibler, AR; her father, Gerald Wilson; sister, Linda DeWitt of Ft. Smith, AR and Karen Aary of Pocola, OK; brother, Dean Wilson (DeWitt)  of Pocola, OK; numerous niece, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.  Pallbearers will be Kyle Cooper, Jay Mirus, Rodney Boerjan, Jerry Reynolds, Howard Blankenship, and Ricky Ryburn.



The family will be at the funeral home in Pocola on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm with relatives & friends.

I worked with Joyce at the pool and I cannot remember a time that she did not smile and her laugh was contagious. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. It is not easy to understand why these things happen. My heart breaks for her entire family. Carrie Vance
