Betty L. Shockley, 77, of Poteau, OK
passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Poteau. Betty was born January 2, 1936 in Clint,
TX to Jesse B. & Bernice
(Frey) Nichols. She was a homemaker who
enjoyed spending time with her facebook friends and researching family
genealogy. Betty was preceded in death
by her husband, Melvin E. Shockley; her parents; and sister, Evelyn Nichols.
Survivors include her sons,
Monte Sr. & Rita Shockley of Poteau, OK, Jeff & Connie Shockley of Poteau,
OK; daughter, Mary & David Peevy of Alma, AR;
grandchildren, Monte Jr. & Ashley Shockley, Brooke & Paul Mason, Sarah
& Levy Adcock, Tyler Shockley, and Taylor Shockley; great grandchildren,
Joel Mason, Jenna Mason, Morgin Shockley, and Annistin Shockley.
Services will be 2 pm,
Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Oakland Cemetery Pavilion with Paul Mason
and Gary Vancil officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be Monte Shockley Jr, Tyler
Shockley, Taylor Shockley, David Peevy, Levy Adcock and Jay Sommers.
