Jerry Arlen Ford

 

Funeral Service for Jerry Arlen Ford, will be at 2pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Seventh Day Church of God in Wister, Oklahoma with Chip Hinds, Lamar Ford, Ted Knight, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.

Jerry Ford, 88, of Poteau, OK passed away peacefully on September 8, 2022 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Jerry was born in Poteau, OK on September 11, 1933 to Burt and Edith Ford. On December 19, 1953, he married his wife Dorotha. He learned the trades of construction and homebuilding from his grandfather and from various jobs and mentors at an early age, and built his long, successful career around residential and commercial construction in LeFlore County.

Jerry was a loving father and a passionate outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and shooting, and shared these experiences with much of his family and friends. He enjoyed camping at his cabin near Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and taking his family and a trailer to Cedar Lake for the weekend. He enjoyed going to weekend garage sales wherever he was at, and hunting for deals on cars, trailers, and RVs to work on.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and Father Edith and Burt; his brothers Denver, David, Kenneth, and Sam; and his sisters Lillie, Betty, and Faye. He is survived by his wife Dorotha; his siblings Bonnie, Charlie, and Dennis; his children Lisa, Paul, and Deborah; his grandchildren Adam, Nick, Daniel, and Tanisha; his great grandchildren, Halli and Evan Caudell; and numerous friends, relatives, and caregivers. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Bates, Nick Foster, Adam Enriquez, Jody Loggins, Randy Frazier, Jeff Jackson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Shipley, Trevor Thompson, Andy Ford, Evan Caudell, Bill Thompson, Jim Mixon.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4pm.
