Anna Mae Easter Snyder was born October 31, 1941 in Springdale,
Arkansas. She passed away January 20, 2021 at the country home of her
daughter, and son-n-law near Poteau, Oklahoma where she was then living. She
was 79.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents Andrew, and Elsie Hampton Easter.
Her Husband Harold Snyder, Brothers Donnie, Richard, Doyle, Marvin, Roger,
and her sisters Waneta, and Mary.
Three grandsons; Frank Snyder, Christopher Snyder, and Jason Snyder.
She is survived by Four Sons, Terry Snyder of Heavener, Oklahoma, Kent Snyder,
and life partner Linda of Chemult, Oregon. Robert Snyder and life partner
Jeanette of Bend, Oregon, Timothy Snyder and life partner Lynn of Roseburg,
Oregon. Daughter Sheila Snyder Schneider and husband Stephen of Poteau,
Oklahoma. 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 second great
grandchild. Her brother's Norman, and James Easter. Along with many Nephews,
Nieces, and cousins.
Anna grew up in the Miller's Chapel area near Winslow, Arkansas. Anna
attended her first years of school at Millers Chapel which was a one room
school house, where her mother, and grandmother had also attended. School
would have to be put aside to help
her family pick cotton down in Texas each year. When she was 11 years old she
moved with her family from Arkansas to Oregon where her father had found work
in the timber industry. There she met, and married Harold Richard Snyder on
October 30, 1956 in
Myrtle Point, Oregon the day before her 15th Birthday. Anna was a housewife
most of her life raising five children.
In 1997 Anna, and her husband Harold travelled back to the Eastern Oklahoma,
Western Arkansas area to visit family, and
research Anna's Native American ancestry. They decided to stay, and
eventually purchased a home in Heavener, Oklahoma where
they lived most the rest of their lives.
Anna was of the Christian faith, and attended Heavener First Baptist Church.
Until recent years, she and her
husband often shared their faith with others riding motorcycles together out
on the road with the Christian Motorcycles Association. They always welcomed
others into their home, and enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee at
local cafe's. Anna Loved her family, and attending family reunions. She was
well known for her Fried Chicken, and home made Potato Salad. Most of all Ann
was known for her love, faith, and kind heart towards all she met.
