Phyllis Ann Hayes, 78, of Spiro, OK passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Fort Smith, AR. Phyllis was born August 23, 1933 in Poteau, OK to Aaron Baxter & Edith D. (Sloan) Skinner. She was a homemaker. Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother & friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands, Charles Knight & Red Hayes; brother, “Big Jim” Skinner; & sons, Kenny Knight & Fred Hayes.
Survivors include 3 daughters & son in law; Charlsi Bandy of Spiro, OK, Janet & Chuck Sandlin of Spiro, OK, Doris Sitton of Winslow, AR; 2 sons & daughters in law, Phillip & Virginia Knight of Ft. Smith, AR, Cecil & Peggy Hayes of Huntington, AR; 15 Grandchildren, Kristy Davis, Chad Bandy, Cody Sandlin, Chuckie Sandlin, Jerry Sitton, Barry Sitton, Paul Knight, Rebel Knight, Derrick Knight, Keith Lindley, Karen Grubbs, Craig Hayes, Brandy Hayes, Joey Knight, Mandy Clark; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be 11 am, Monday at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook & Rev. Roger Mattox officiating. Interment will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Monroe, OK. Pallbearers will be Paul Knight, Rebel Knight Derrick Knight, Bryce Bandy, David Crossland, Mark Morrison.
The family will be at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
