Joyce Yvonne (Creamer) Winters, 84, passed away, Thursday, September 8, 2011 in Fort Smith, AR. Joyce was born April 19, 1927 in Durant, OK to Harley B. & Sadie Irene (Hale) Creamer. She attended Southeastern State College in Durant, OK earning a BA Degree in English. She married Richard Lee Winters on July 7, 1951 at the First Christian Church in Durant, OK and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother & homemaker. Joyce was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Poteau. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Philip Dan Creamer.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Lee Winters, MD of Poteau; daughter & son-in-law, Cynthia Rebecca & Charles Gilmore of Norman, OK; sons & daughters in law, Richard Bruce, MD & Jeanne Winters of Poteau, OK, Mark Creamer & Elizabeth Winters of Flower Mound, TX.; Grandchildren include Cassie Gilmore, Charles Gilmore II, Richard Drew Winters, Benjamin Winters, Austin Winters, Blake Winters, Carson Winters & sister in law, Sally Creamer of Seattle, WA.
Services will be 1 pm, Sunday, September 11, 2011 at First Christian Church in Poteau, OK with Rev. Dennis Jones officiating. Interment in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Pallbearers will be Charles Gilmore II, Richard Drew Winters, Benjamin Winters, Austin Winters, Blake Winters, & Carson Winters.
