Clarence O. Evans, 99, of Ft. Smith, AR passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 in Ft. Smith, AR. Mr. Evans was born in Wister, OK on September 14, 1909 to David & Nellie Edna (Baldwin) Evans. He was a turbine operator. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie (Hall) Evans; his parents; 4 brothers, Roy, Otis, Haskell, & Juray Evans; 4 sisters, Neta Madden, Neva Jenson, Margie Humphrey, & Freda Watkins.
Survivors include one son, Clarence Evans Jr & wife, Carolyn of Heber Springs, AR; daughters, Janiece Jensen of Conway, AR, Nella Keenom of Ft. Smith, AR; grandsons, Tim Evans of Vicksburg, MS, David Keenom of Clarksville, TN; granddaughters, Toni Truetken, Diane Hagar of Conway, AR; 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchldren; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services were held 2 pm, Tuesday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Ok with the Rev. Lloyd Humphrey officiating. Interment followed in Maxey Cemetery, Wister, OK. Pallbearers: Tim Evans, Brian Hagar, Steve Pilkington, Neil Brannon, Ronnie Glenn & Gary Humphrey.
