Howard Burdett Smith, 83, of Shady Point, OK passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at his home in Shady Point. He was born in McAlester, OK on December 22, 1924 to Isaac D. & Edith A (Davis) Smith. He was retired from auto body work. He served in the Hawaiian Islands during WWII with the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters & 3 brothers.
Howard is survived by his wife, Lois of the home; 2 sons & daughters in law, Johnnie & Cathy Smith of Shady Point, OK, Ronnie & Lisa Smith of Wister, OK; 3 grandsons, Mike Smith, Brad Smith, and Heath Smith; one brother, Rex Smith of Oklahoma City, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services were held 10 am, Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Shady Point Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Joe Owen officiating. Interment followed in Shady Point Cemetery with pallbearers Chuck Armstrong, Billy Earls, Joe Davidson, Stan Cagle, Roy Stimac, Mike Roberson, Earl Lemons, & Robert Wright.
