Wilma Eidschun

  


         Wilma Louise Eidschun, 93, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in Poteau.  Wilma was born July 12, 1927 in Poteau to O.W. “Boots” & Lois E. (White) Wise.  She lived her entire life in the Poteau area.  She married  the love of her life, Billy James Eidschun, Sr, on March 16, 1947.  One of her favorite memories was when Billy James proposed to her at Poteau city park.  Wilma worked for several years at Hamlin Mfg. and at both the Poteau and Panama Tote a Poke.  She also helped her sister at the Dairy Queen Sandwich Shop before retiring.

          She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.  She loved collecting antique dishes and refinishing antique furniture.  She was an excellent seamstress, making formals, wedding dresses, and dresses for her granddaughters as well as beautiful quilts.  She loved having tea parties for her grandchildren no matter what their age.  This meant using a cloth tablecloth and cloth napkins.  She was a wonderful cook, especially pies, cakes, and candies.  Her greatest joy was cooking and visiting with her family.

 In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Madge Robison and Mozelle Plummer and brothers, Joe and Kenny Wise.

          Survivors include her two sons, Billy James Eidschun, Jr and wife Key of Monroe, and Mark Eidschun and wife Pam of Poteau. She has two granddaughters, Jill Eidschun Billings and husband Chris, and Gayle Eidschun; one grandson, USAF Sgt. Mark W. Eidschun and wife Whitney; great grandsons, Matt Eidschun and Rainey W. Eidschun; great granddaughters, Abbey Billings, Emma Eidschun and London Eidschun.  She is also survived by one brother, Don Wise and one sister, Ann Wise LaFevers.  She also had four generations of nieces and nephews; other relatives and loved ones.

          Services will be 2 pm, Friday at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion with Jim Cook officiating.
